These conditions allow an elevated availability of oxygen for the roots. Vigna Grande Cerzito is characterized by refined flavours of cherry, plum and chocolate and by a full and delicate structure. Chalmers Aglianico 2019Destemmed, wild fermented, left 30 days on skins, pressed to chestnut botte. The classic southern Italian red grape is incredibly well suited to the climate and soils of Heathcote. Each vintage re-affirms that. A complex, fleshy expression of the grape is wrapped in black cherry, white pepper, allspice, dark chocolate, licorice and a gentle savouriness. Petilia Le Sepaie Irpinia Aglianico 2018100% Aglianico from clay and limestone soil in the Taurasi and Paternopoli production zones of southern Italy. The wine is aged in barriques and tonneaux for 12 months.
A complex nose of great depth, intensity and persistent flavours. There are hints of violet, cherry and wild strawberry. The palate shows great structure with enveloping warmth and smooth intense aromas of red fruit with delicate spicy notes.

Elena Fucci 'SCEG' Aglianico del Vulture 2019The 2019 Aglianico del Vulture SCEG needs a good decant or coaxing in the glass to blow off some smoky youthful reduction. Beneath awaits a wild mix of peppery herbs, blackberries, dried citrus and hints of animal musk. It’s soft and enveloping, yet quickly takes on a zesty and energetic flair, with tart wild berries and cooling mineral tones motivated by a bolt of nervous acidity. The 2019 finishes with tension and lightly-structured, leaving the palate drenched in primary concentration, as tart black currants are pleasantly offset by a hint of sweet lavender. This is only the second vintage for the SCEG, and it really shows the potential of the fruit sources that Elena Fucci is using. These sources are made up of farmers who work alongside the Fucci family for decades and tend to some of the oldest parcels in the region. This is really well done. ERIC GUIDO, Vinous
A new wine for Elena, Sceg, pronounced sheg in Italian, is the name for pomegranate in Arbëreshë, an old dialect spoken by Albanians who emigrated to southern Italy centuries ago. Izway 'Angelo' Aglianico 2022The wine is named after Craig’s great mate, and our concreter to the stars, Angelo. After Ang and his team did such an outstanding job on our winery and cellar door construction, we thought it only fitting to name a wine after him made from an Italian grape variety!
Pure and perfumed, the aromatics are classically Aglianico. Savoury spice and leather flow into red cherry and orange rind, with hints of clove and cinnamon. Quintodecimo Aglianico Terra d'Eclano 2021The 2021 Terra D'Eclano is remarkably expressive, with a vivid blend of wild strawberries, violets, lavender and hints of wet stone. It sweeps across the palate, wildly fresh and lifted with crisp wild berry fruits and perfumed inner florals. Tactile mineral tones form toward the close. Antonio Camillo Ciliegiolo 2023Antonio Camillo was born and bred in the Maremma region along Tuscany’s Tyrrhenian coast. He chose his homeland, specifically the area of the Maremma alta, to make wines “that can talk about their terroir and that can be easily recognizable for their character and their class”.
Antonio chose to work primarily with Ciliegiolo – ciliegia means cherry – an ancient variety genetically related to Sangiovese that was often used in Tuscany as a blending component for its cherry scented vibrant fruit. Antonio believed in the grape in its own right and set about searching for old vine vineyards, eventually purchasing six hectares in Manciano, a medieval town literally just steps from the Saturnia hot springs.
