Partners at the Prince Wine Store – Michael McNamara and Alex Wilcox – have developed, over the past 15 years, wine courses that are inspired by their travels to significant wine regions around the world.
The Prince Wine Store Courses on offer are Introductory Wine Course, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese Wine Courses as well as an intensive two-week course on Burgundy, and a special Barolo Masterclass/Dinner. These courses are taught by the owners and members of staff and offer an informal but informative way to learn about wine. Finally, it’s important to stress that one of the key aspects to all the Prince Wine Store courses is that we always use bench-mark wine examples in the curriculum.
For those wanting a more formal, and internationally recognised qualification, Prince Wine Store offer the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award in Wines, Level 3 Award in Wines and the flagship qualification Level 4 Diploma.
We're also proud to offer Levels 1, 2 & 3 in Sake and Level 2 Award in Spirits.
These courses adhere to a pre-set curriculum by WSET and are delivered by approved educators (including three Masters of Wine).
All WSET courses culminate with an examination which is then marked by the Wine & Spirits Education Trust in London. These courses are ideal for the hospitality professional or the keen amateur.
In addition to our South Melbourne store, Prince Wine Store delivers WSET courses at our satellite sites; Prince Wine Store (Sydney), Moorooduc Estate (Mornington Peninsula), Rob Dolan Wines (Yarra Valley), Vera Wine Forum (Newcastle) and Rude Boy (Hobart).
Prince Wine Store can also offer private training to businesses, either at one of our venues, or on-site at your business.
