Ronchi di Cialla Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso 2014The 2014 Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso di Cialla is a darkly alluring and rich red, with brown spice, smoked meats and ground coffee giving way to woodland berries. Savory red fruits and exotic spice offset a lovely inner sweetness, all enriched by a touch of hazelnut. Soft tannins, ginger and sour citrus are left lingering as the 2014 tapers off almost juicy in feel. This is a unique style of the Refosco, courtesy of the difficult 2014 vintage, but one that any fan of Ronchi di Cialla should not be without. Eric Guido, Vinous 2023
