    Henriques & Henriques Madeira Sercial 10yo 500mL

    Sercial is the driest style of Madeira and this 10-year-old has vibrant acidity. A rich tawny colour with aromas of fruit cake, nuts, dried orange peel and citrus freshness. An initial figgy richness on the palate gives way to notes of fresh citrus, toasted almonds, walnuts and savoury umami notes. Finishes crisp and dry with a delicious salty tang. This type of Madeira won't improve with bottle age, but an open bottle can keep for several months. DECANTER

    100% Sercial grown on mixed volcanic soils and hand-harvested mid to late September. Fermented with some whole-clusters with skin maceration in lagares with native yeasts. Matured in canteiro; aged in balseiro (large cask) and pipas (pipes) for a minimum of 10 years. Winemaker: Humberto Jardím. Vegan. TA 5.8 g/l, pH 3.52, RS 55.1 g/l.
    Pale tawny. Edgy, sour marmalade with real refreshment and raciness. Clean as a whistle, and so fresh! JANCIS ROBINSON

    The non-vintage 15-Year-Old Verdelho has a Baume of 1.9 degrees. It has a terse, orange rind, California raisin and dried apricot-scented bouquet with attractive resinous aromas emerging with aeration.     A blend of 70/30% grenache/matato. From the Yangarra Vineyard on deep sandy soils; co-fermented, with three weeks total on skins; old French oak for 15 months. There’s a pulpy richness here, a buoyancy of fruit set against an inherent savouriness of site. Black cherry and wild raspberry, scrubby garigue-like herbals, red licorice, rose and ground dried orange.     The 2021 Nero d’Avola Lagnusa is coy in the glass, mixing blackberry with cedar and scant citrus. It splashes across the palate with a mineral-tinged blend of wild berries and exotic spice. A zesty core of acidity adds a reverberation of tension. The 2021 leaves a liquid floral concentration and subtle tannins to linger, finishing only lightly structured and with medium length.     Shiraz, Grenache, Nero d'Avola and Mourvèdre from the Tellurian vineyard. Hand-picked and gently whole-bunch pressed to tank.  Fermented in seasoned French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. The wine remained on yeast lees in barrel and tank for three months prior to racking, stabilisation and bottling.

    Siccagno is my Nero d'Avola, born from that concentrated grape which is precisely called Siccagna. The Nero that tells so much about Sicily, which is wild, but also fresh and elegant, with a flavor of red fruits. Which has something noble and aristocratic, but also melancholy like a poet or a philosopher. Which is passionate, full of human warmth and contrasts. Classification DOC Sicily; Altitude 280m above sea level; ground is Medium consistency from light sands and sub-Apennine rock of a calcareous nature; agriculture Medium consistency from light sands and sub-Apennine rock of a calcareous nature; training system used is spurred cordon and sapling; average age of the plants is 35 years with plant density of 6000 plants per hectare.  Time of harvest first ten days of October. Fermentation In cement tanks with indigenous yeasts, 25 days maceration on the skins; refinement 24 months in 30HL Austrian oak barrels, 2 months in the bottle. ARIANNA OCCHIPINTI

    Henriques & Henriques Madeira Verdelho 10yo 500ml
    Planted at altitudes up to 400-metres located in the north of the island (Ponta Delgada and São Vincente), this late maturing grape is used to produce fruity, medium-dry styles. Considered a favourite amongst Madeira’s winemakers due to it’s ability to balance acidity, sugar and alcohol, at this level Verdelho produces a striking, off-dry wine that can also be served as an aperitif, with tapas dishes or more complex seafood dishes. With age, the wines grow in intensity, developing delicious honeyed depths and a creamy texture that is balanced by its racy acidity.
