  1. Jean-Luc & Eric Burguet Bourgogne Rouge Les Pince Vin 2022
Jean-Luc & Eric Burguet Bourgogne Rouge Les Pince Vin 2022

This Bourgogne rouge comes from Gevrey Chambertin vineyards and hits above its level

The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge Les Pince Vin is a beautifully supple, easygoing red to drink over the next handful of years. Understated and gracious, the 2022 is so classy. Bright, red-toned fruit, white pepper and lifted floral notes all lift from the glass. This finishes with lovely energy and class. Jean-Luc Burguet plans to give this wine a bit more time in barrel than has been the norm in recent years. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous.com

A ripe and fresh nose combines notes of various red berries with plenty of earth character. There is good vibrancy to the very supple middleweight flavors that tighten up on the youthfully austere, dusty and mildly warm finale. BURGHOUND

  2. Jean-Luc & Eric Burguet Vosne Romanee Rouge Dessus 1er 2022
Jean-Luc & Eric Burguet Vosne Romanee Rouge Dessus 1er 2022

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Les Rouges des Dessus 1er Cru is mysterious and complex. Scents of pipe tobacco, cedar, crushed rocks, spice and red-toned fruit emanate from the glass. There is a brooding quality in the 2022 that I find quite appealing. It works rather well with the wine’s textural depth and overall feel. This is promising. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous.com

There is enough reduction to suppress all but subtle spice wisps. The gorgeously textured and strikingly delineated if not especially concentrated medium-bodied flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the caressing yet powerful, even robust, youthfully austere finish. This is lovely but I underscore that it's going to need at least some patience as it's very tightly wound today. BURGHOUND

Because two spiky plants are better than one.

A Mexican masterpiece of Destilado de Agave - cooked, crushed and distilled from mature blue agave grown in the lowland valleys of Jalisco. After it's smuggled into Australia, we infuse it with Pineapple and Jalapeño - because nothing is more fun and delicious than that.

This product is essentially Spring Break for your mouth, without the criminal charges and lifelong consequences.

Departed Spirits Bloody Cello (500ml) 37%

Spirit: Blood orangecello Primary Flavour: Blood orange Secondary Flavour: Ancho Chilli

Let’s be honest - cellos sound kinda nice and we all pretend to love them if we are on a  first date, but most of the time: BORING. Not any more. This cello is a disturbed, unhinged, raging hot mess of a drink. How, you ask? We infused zesty Australian blood orange peels with the dried husks of ancho chilli. It’s smokey, vibrant, zesty, bitter and sour.

It’s everything you ever wanted in a drink but were too self-concious and idiotic to ask for. So top it with Prosecco, top up your Negroni or drink it like a heathen - because this little number is music for your mouth. A symphony for your senses. A tango for your tastebuds. You get the drift....drink it.

THE 2020 - Aromas of minerals, iodine and oyster shells with plums, strawberries and cherries. Medium-bodied with linear and lightly chewy fruit. Very fine tannins. Savory and juicy. So drinkable now with tannin tension and focus. Drink or hold. One for the cellar. (97) JAMES SUCKLING

  11. Ata Rangi Crimson Pinot Noir 2023
Ata Rangi Crimson Pinot Noir 2023
A departure from the typically broad-shouldered expression of Crimson, this is a reflection of the 2023 vintage. Instead of making three single vineyards, plus the estate pinot and the Crimson pinot in 2023, winemaker Helen Masters responded to the cool, wet conditions by crafting an estate-wide blend for the Crimson as the only still pinot noir in the cellar that year. This is clearly a lighter year, but there’s also a delicate, elegant side which emerges from the shadows—it’s an ethereal wine which speaks in whispers and echoes.

Light ruby. Floral, delicate nose with subtle aromas of pot-pourri, wild berry and rosehip. A light, crisp palate with crystalline, light-weight tangy flavours and a subtly savoury finish which rests on bony, chalky, fine tannins. Volnay-esque in its expression of lightness and clarity, like lace stained with cherry. Accessible now but it will unfurl and evolve within the context of its more contemplative, delicate style, at least in the mid-term. STEPHEN WONG MW, Real Review

  12. Loro Cherry & Cacao Manhattan 200ml
Loro Cherry & Cacao Manhattan 200ml
Cherry & Cacao Manhattan: Cacao Husk . Cherry . Solera Rye . Fennel . Sweet Vermouth

The original Manhattan cocktail was first mixed with whiskey, sweet vermouth, bitter and absinthe. Our recipe blends Solera Rye and sweet vermouth, accompanied with cacao husk, fennel seeds and preserved cherries. A deep, ripe fruit on the nose, a hint of spice on the palate, with a tropical fruit  dance integrating the acidity perfectly. Elegant, highly drinkable and uplifting.

Ours, tonka bean & fresh vanilla––think almond & baked goods–– gently supported by fragrant orange, & cold brew coffee––to wake your senses (not f**k them up).

    Loro Dark Chocolate Martini 200ml
Dark Chocolate Martini 100% Chocolate . Gin . Vermouth

Developed in collaboration with Mörk chocolate brewhouse in Melbourne, we’ve designed a pure and sweet chapter of a tale many times told. A refined, non-creamy chocolate martini using 100% Venezuelan chocolate––cold vacuum distilled to isolate an authentic flavour. In its cleanest version the chocolate was then blended with dry vermouth and gin to create a full flavoured, elegant chocolate martini. Not heavy, not sticky.

To serve: Chill in the freezer for an hour prior to serving. Pour into a chilled glass, garnish with a lemon peel.

  16. Bachelet Monnot Bourgogne Rouge 2022
    Bachelet Monnot Bourgogne Rouge 2022
The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge includes around 25% whole bunches. The bouquet offers red cherries and strawberry fruit, just a little earthy in style. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins. It’s a strict and slightly austere Bourgogne Rouge that will deserve a year in bottle. NEAL MARTIN, Vinous

One third each from below Puligny, old vine Hautes Côtes and some village Maranges. Bright mid purple, juicy raspberry fruit, the racking has opened the wines out says Alex. An easily accessible delight. JASPER MORRIS MW, Inside Burgundy

  24. Mulline Pinot Noir 2024
    Mulline Pinot Noir 2024

SPECIAL VALUE. A four-vineyard, six-clone blend; 20% wholes bunches, 15% new oak. A bright crimson red. A lifted bouquet redolent of summer red fruits, poached rhubarb, rose bush and white pepper. The energetic palate is light to medium bodied with the wine's fine-grained tannins and bright acidity making for a delicious and refreshing mouthful. Good, nay, great now and over the next 3–4 years. (95) PHILIP RICH, Wine Companion

Gosh this is an attractive wine. So many violets and indeed so redolent generally of a garden in bloom. Blue and red berried fruit flavours come melted with potpourri, sweet spice, leaf matter and twigs. Fruit and florals are the drivers but then the extras are tucked within. Mint and blood orange characters are here too, along with a decent crack of tannin. This is obviously meant to be consumed in its youth but even so, a quick double-decant does it a world of good. There’s fabulous drinking to be had here. CAMPBELL MATTINSON, Wine Front

Mulline Wines is the project of Ben Mullen and Ben Hine, crafting small-batch, site-focused wines from Geelong’s cool-climate vineyards. With a hands-off approach and a focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Mulline delivers vibrant, elegant wines that capture the purity and character of the region.

The philosophy is all about precision, freshness, and purity. Mulline sources fruit from carefully selected vineyards, many of which are farmed sustainably or organically, and crafts wines with a light touch.

Gentle Folk Monomeith Pinot Noir 2023

It’s cool, it’s succulent, it’s got some slurp to it too. Purple fruits, mulberry, dark cherry, sour and tart pops of pomegranate jewels and a wash of alpine herbs and light white pepper over it all. It goes the distance, it feels svelte and coils serpent-like through the palate. A savoury undertow of brambles and earth also there. It does many, many things, and just feels right and righteous overall. Oh boy. (95) MIKE BENNIE

2022 - There's an air of serious intent to this wine. It's both inherently complex and impressively powered, its array of fruit, stalk and spice notes ricocheting from one corner of your mouth to another. The quality deal is then sealed by the manner in which firm sheets of tannin lock the wine's various components into place. This is a wine of gravitas. (96) JAMES HALLIDAY’S WINE COMPANION

Domaine Derey Bourgogne Cote d'Or Rouge 2023

Glowing purple, an exuberant nose, with abundant juicy dark berry fruit energy. All destemmed. A large jug of this would go down handsomely of a summer's evening. Excellent fruit-acid balance, some blackcurrants at the back. Lovely. JASPER MORRIS MW

An expressive nose of poached plum, violet and earth gives way to racy and well-detailed flavors that conclude in a mildly austere sneaky long finish. Note that the supporting tannins are sufficiently supple such that this could be approached upon release. BURGHOUND

Deep colour, a glossy purple. Ripe, plush and fruitful. Nice undertow of spice, but the array of dark fleshed fruit is what come across most prominently, it's well rounded and fulsome but the underpinned by fresh acidity and fine, sweet tannins. Nice wine. Some airy, spring forest aromas, little poke and prod of minerality, a subtly sappy feel. Yeah, nice wine! ROSCOE

  30. Domaine Collotte Bourgogne Rouge 2023
    Domaine Collotte Bourgogne Rouge 2023

Young Philippe Collotte is one of the several new stars of Marsannay. ROBERT PARKER JR, The Wine Advocate.

Depth of aroma – to match the depth of colour – pure and floral too – that’s lovely. Hmm – what a lovely Bourgogne – not a wine of impact, rather one of melting, fluid, delicious flavour – just a beautiful Bourgogne – ‘we really want a Bourgogne that’s easy to approach and has lovely pinot fruit…” BILL NANSON, Burgundy Report

The Collottes have been grape growers in Marsannay for four generations, but it wasn’t until 1981 that a young, 16 year-old Philippe Collotte bottled the first wine under the name of Domaine Collotte. He subsequently leased some mature vineyards of about 40 years of age in both Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, to further expand the domaine’s repertoire.

In 2013 Philippe was joined by his daughter Isabelle, who had just completed her viticulture and oenology studies at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune. Whilst Isabelle focusses particularly on the production of the domaine’s white wines, there is no doubt that her addition to the team has helped refine the quality of the wines across the board.

100% de-stemmed with week long cold soak at 10c gradually raising temperature with pigeage for first half of ferment following by remontage for second half before pressing and ageing in 25% new oak for top reds. 32. Girardin Bourgogne Rouge 2022
    Girardin Bourgogne Rouge 2022

The family's winemaking history goes back centuries, but it was Vincent Girardin who really put the name on the international map during the late 20th century, gaining a reputation for crafting expressive, polished wines — particularly from the Côte de Beaune, with a focus on Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, and Chassagne-Montrachet.

Today, under the guidance of a new generation and a talented team led by Eric Germain (long-time winemaker), Maison Vincent Girardin continues to produce elegant, terroir-driven wines. The philosophy is built around respect for the vineyard, using sustainable farming practices and minimal intervention in the winery to let each site speak clearly.

The nose is vibrant and alluring, revealing aromas of red cherries, raspberries, and wild strawberries, layered with delicate floral notes of violets, subtle earthy nuances, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and elegantly textured, with silky tannins and bright acidity enhancing the flavors of juicy red berries, a touch of licorice, and a refined mineral edge. The finish is smooth, fresh, and well-balanced, making it a versatile and food-friendly choice.

Olivier Morin Bourgogne Rouge Chitry 'Constance' 2020

Olivier Morin took over the family business in 1992, after a first life spent in the music world. The 14ha domaine is currently undergoing organic certification. When he took over, his parents were making just their three appellations: Aligoté, plus Chitry

of both colours. The continuity of this approach is reflected in Olivier's 'Constance' cuvées, to which he has added an old-vine Bourgogne Chitry white called Olympe, after the original owner of the vines, and a single vineyard red, Vau de Puits. Olivier Morin likes a long slow fermentation for
the whites, using natural yeasts. The reds are vinified without sulphur until after the malolactic fermentation. JASPER MORRIS, Inside Burgundy

Jean-Luc & Eric Burguet Gevrey Chambertin Lavaux Saint Jacques 1er 2022

From a .092 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines that typically yield about 1 ¼ barrels

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques emerges from a tiny parcel planted in 1949. Dark and complex in its first impression, the 2022 possesses notable fruit purity and a good bit of supporting structure, despite its deceptively mid-weight feel. White pepper, orange peel and tea leaves build in the glass, leading effortlessly into the clean, mineral-laced finish. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous.com

OUTSTANDING. Here too firm reduction dominates the fruit at present. Otherwise, the markedly earthy big-bodied and almost painfully intense flavors flash imposing power on the driving and palate staining finish that delivers excellent length. Like the Les Rouges, this is quite firmly structured and a wine that is going to need at least some cellaring first. BURGHOUND

  42. Copper Rivet Dockyard Gin 500ml 41.2% alc
Copper Rivet Dockyard Gin 500ml 41.2% alc

Distilled using locally grown barley and Kentish water, this is as fresh and bright as a sunny spring day in the countryside. Elegant and refined gin, with a lovely, half floral, half herbal lift. I tasted it before learning what botanicals had been used in its production, and suspect its fragrant quality comes from the local elderflowers. MAX ALLEN

Ingredients: Italian Juniper berries, locally sourced elderflower, Bulgarian Coriander seeds, Spanish orange peel, Italian lemon peel, Guatemala green cardamom, grains of paradise from Africa, European Angelica root and Orris root, our own neutral grain spirit and Kentish chalk filtered water.

Domaine de Bellene Beaune Hommage Francois Potel 1er Vieilles Vignes 2021

This is the first wine to display much wood influence and there is a mentholated top note to the peppery red and dark pinot fruit aromas. Once again there is very good volume and excellent vibrancy to the sleek and delicious medium weight flavors that display good balance on the sappy and dusty finish. This has enough development potential to reward up to a decade of cellaring.  BURGHOUND

I loved the touch of austerity and limestone drying quality in this wine. Quite serious and detailed in it's way. For the money, it's really smart Burgundy. MICHAEL MCNAMARA

  45. Vilmart Coeur de Cuvee 2015
    Vilmart Coeur de Cuvee 2015
80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir from vines averaging 60 years old, the wine spends nearly 6 years on lees. Most importantly only the heart of the pressing is taken - 1400 litres instead of the usual 2100 litres, hence the name 'coeur de cuvee.'
The 2015 Brut Coeur de Cuvée is a pretty dense wine that belies its deceptively mid-weight structure. What surprises me most about the 2015 is how closed it is. In most years, especially warm years, Coeur de Cuvée is quite a bit more open and voluptuous, but the 2015 does not come across like that at all. Rather, it is super-classic in bearing, with tons of gravitas from the 60-year-old vines just waiting to emerge. There are none of the awkward herbal notes that penalize so many wines. Bright saline notes extend the finish effortlessly. The 2015 is a brilliant Coeur de Cuvée. ANTONIO GALLONI

  46. Burguet Gevrey Chambertin Lavaux St Jacques 1er 2020
Burguet Gevrey Chambertin Lavaux St Jacques 1er 2020
From a .092 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines that typically yield about 1 ¼ barrels
Here the brooding and very fresh nose reflects notes of leather, earth, game and ripe dark currant scents. There is excellent energy and delineation to the even more mineral-driven larger-scaled flavors that flash good power and a taut muscularity on the youthfully austere and serious finale. Good stuff that should reward at least a decade or so of keeping and a wine that will need at a minimum of 5 to 6 years. Outstanding, BURGHOUND

Alexandre Brault Monthelie Les Riottes 1er Cru 2020
I sometimes think Monthelie reds are a forgotten member of the Burg family. So often they can provide so much immediacy and enjoyment and often for a fraction of the cost of a wine from neighbouring Volnay. This is no exception. Turned earth, amaro herbs frames juice and nicely ripe rep and black fruits. The spice element from judicious oak use is also a lovely addition and theres a trail of tannins that afford the wine freedom without sacrificing form. MICHAEL MCNAMARA
