Marcel Deiss Riquewihr 2021A blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris and some Pinot Blanc, the 2021 Riquewihr was harvested along the Schoenenbourg Grand Cru, on the more exposed side of the grand cru Sporen, and from parcels towards Kientzheim. After some funky reduction has dissipated, luminous candied lemon notes appear. The palate, however, is fuller and seems buffered and airy, with very concentrated freshness, soft fruit and defining pithy bitterness that makes the mouth water. The finish is bone-dry and rapier-like, edged with ginger. (Bone-dry) ANNE KREBIEHL MW, Vinous
This wine comes from the parcels of Domaine Marcel Deiss located on the end of Riquewihr (places called Engelsreben and Rosenbourg) conducted biodynamically. The siliceous superficial framework of these soils resting on deep marls, gives a wine extremely salivating, precise, robust, thick, aristocratic and cold in primitive youth, but fleshy. Complete and very long aging. This is the complex message of a vibrant fruit from a deep cold earth.
If you have never had the wines of Deiss this is a great place to start. He has always been adamant that the great wines of Alsace are 100% about place and grape second, so much so that he famous for his field blend wines that combine several grapes and that which for Deiss represent one of the great expressions of the region.

Lallier Blanc de Blanc NVCultivated with 100% Chardonnay grapes from two magnificent grand cru regions: Aÿ and the Côtes des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Oger), an approach pioneered in the late 90s by James Lallier, at a time when Chardonnay was chosen exclusively from Côte des Blancs. Perfectly timed harvesting to ensure that the grapes used in Blanc de Blancs Champagne are fully matured and at their pinnacle. Inspired by Lallier’s sincere respect and outstanding understanding of terroir, this pure Chardonnay is grown on chalky hillside plots, allowing the vine’s roots to penetrate deeper, providing excellent drainage, yet still retaining sufficient moisture for nourishment. A tribute to the legendary Champagne terroir.NVChampagneFrance376$130.00 As low as $117.00

Lallier Blanc de Noirs NVThis unique blend of regional grapes allows Blanc de Noirs to take Pinot Noir’s remarkable complexity to a new level of purity and deep character. The combination of maturation in stainless steel tanks (90%) with 228L wooden barrels (10%) adds to the blend complexity, while the long aging on lees and low dosage (7g/l) completes the Blanc de Noirs’s signature profile. A 100% Pinot Noir blend made with 70% of harvest of that year. The result is a powerful, refined and generous wine.NVChampagneFrance376$130.00 As low as $117.00

Lallier R.020 Brut NVSourced predominantly from the 2020 harvest, which makes up 81% of the blend. For the first time since the creation of Réflexion, Chardonnay dominates the blend at 51%. Grapes were sourced from over 50 crus within Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne and Montgueux for the Chardonnay, and Vallée de la Marne, Montagne de Reims and Côte des Bar for the Pinot Noir. An early harvest, starting in late August, yielded a superb quality of grapes, combining delivering intensity and freshness. Ullens L.P.M NVThe NV Extra Brut L.P.M. is a pure Pinot Meunier from the Massif de St Thierry, all vinified in oak and kept on fine lees for 11 months before tirage. The base is mostly 2019. The nose has an overtone of roasted nuts. The palate just lets itself fall into a fine bed of yeast, made elastic and bouncy by freshness. The result is a fresh, energetic wine on surprisingly light feet, with much agility bedded on soft, pliable yeast. Lovely and gastronomic. Disgorged: December, 2022. Thierry Fournier Blanc de Blanc NVJulien explains that the Marne Valley vines sit in clay limestone soils, often giving richer Chardonnay notes than fruit from the Cote de Blancs. That said this is still very, very precise and fine with a rich mid palate for sure but then a precise, linear finish. To describe the flavour profile as ‘Chablis with bubbles’ would be perhaps to over-simplify things but this certainly makes for a sleek yet flavourful NV. Deutz Brut Vintage 2016The generous and rounded style of 2016 is translated eloquently in the restrained house of Deutz with a primary and expressive blend of apple, pear, strawberry and fig. A friendly vintage to drink young. TYSON STELZER
The nose of the Deutz Brut Millésimé 2016 reveals itself to us with a delicate medley of fruit and pastry notes (apricot and peach tarts) interwoven with white flowers and ground almonds. The palate is direct on entry and shows a lovely vibrant character. Discreet notes of perfectly ripe yellow fruit and flowers are in keeping with the aromas perceived on the nose. The mid-palate gains in complexity to reveal delicate aromas of lovely ripe almonds. Deutz Amour de Deutz Blanc de Blancs Vintage 2013100% chardonnay from Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, with a little Oger, Chouilly, Vertus and 4% Ville Marmery; aged 9 years on lees; disgorged 31 May 2022.
There's a compelling contrast here between the elegance of the house in this cool, late harvest, and a real presence of confidence and intensity that encapsulate the strength of Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The dancing purity of the season furnishes a fantastic core of lemon, white peach, grapefruit and nashi pear, but faintly brushed with the brioche and honey of age, a quiet declaration of the slow-motion evolution of great things to come. The grand acidity of 2013 unites with a deep ocean of salt-infused minerality in a mesmerising upwelling of pure, crystalline chalk that glitters and froths though a finish of epic line and length. The cool, restrained mood of 2013 charges Amour with a surge of energy that thrusts it long into the future of potential, confirming a brilliant Blanc de Blancs and the greatest since the spellbinding 2008. Golden in the glass, there's a lively shot of citrus lemon zest with subtle edges of caramel and toast. Nicely gourmet in style, this balances high acidity, zingy and vibrant fruit with a full body and firm structure. Soft perfumed florality is evident as well as grapefruit, lime and toasted brioche. Delamotte Blanc de Blanc 2018The 2018 Brut Blanc de Blancs is a blend of fruit from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Oger, Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry, six villages in the Côte des Blancs. Crushed rocks, mint, slate, lemon peel and green pear lend notable freshness. Like most wines in this vintage, the Blanc de Blancs is airy and medium-bodied in structure, but it shows lovely tension and fine balance. There's plenty of Delamotte class, in an understated style. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous
The Delamotte 2018 Blanc de Blancs is showing well today, evoking a gourmand, complex bouquet of pastry, almonds, ripe orchard fruits, spices and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied, layered and chiseled, it’s enveloping and round with a fleshy core of fruit, though not as fleshy as the 2012, concluding with a tense and long finish. Hure Freres Inattendue Blanc de Blancs 2018
The 2018 Extra Brut Inattendue is a pure Chardonnay picked in Ludes and Rilly La Montagne. Slight creaminess and fresh, ripe yellow apple flesh appears on the nose. The palate is clearly very youthful with its foamy, exuberant mousse taking center stage and primary fruit still holding sway, deliciously so. This is bright, fresh and vivid, but there is dimension beyond fruit and freshness that shows pure and concentrated fruit . Dosage 3gr/ L Disgorged 2023. ANNE KREBIEHL MW, vinous

Quealy 'Pobblebonk' 2024
Quite possibly the most delicious Pobblebonk to date. Riesling, friulano, pinot grigio and ribolla gialla are the friends, each fermented wild in used French oak, on full solids and later blended. It’s heady with meadow flowers, lemon blossom and hints of lemon verbena, really spicy with nutty, leesy aromas, and the palate is both textural and alive with fine acidity. Neat phenolics add to the pleasure of drinking this. (95) JANE FAULKNER, Halliday Wine Companion
Light to mid straw colour in the glass, the bouquet savoury with some nutty notes possibly from barrel ferment, adding layers to the floral and spicy fruit aromas. Deliciously intense fruit on palate with a touch more dimension than the Quealy pinot grigios. It's truly more than the sum of its parts. A lovely drink, intense, long and harmonious, the finish lip-smackingly dry and appetising. (95), HUON HOOKE, The Real Review
How do you make a melange of fruity, bitter and salty so perfectly? So easygoing, delivering the goods, not stingy on flavour, not pushy with perfume. Just right. Lightly honeyed, with pink rock salt to balance, crunch of pears and cashews, with a cooling aniseed to finish. Textural but smooth. Simply yum. Nailed it. Beginning with the striking, pale copper color, this is very unconventional rosé champagne. Laherte Freres Nature de Craie NV
Disgorged April 2022. For a number of vintages, Aurélien Laherte has been experimenting with a sans soufre (zero sulphur) cuvée. In 2018 he cracked it with two barrels of Côte des Blancs juice, drawn from two Premier Cru terroirs in Vertus and Voipreux. Laherte noted that the key factors to the stability of vinifying in the absence of any additions were zero dosage and full malolactic conversion.
The third release of Laherte’s Nature de Craie is drawn from a single vintage (2020) drawn from parcels planted in 1960, 1965 and 1987. The word craie refers to the chalky soil of these terroirs, which lie on the lower slopes ensuring good exposure, in turn providing ripeness of fruit and no need for additional dosage. From hand-harvested and traditionally pressed fruit, this release was vinified in neutral oak barrels before aging on cork for 12 months. It was disgorged in April with no dosage. Maidenii Roselle Bitter 750mlRoselle is the common name for Hibiscus Sabdariffa. It has a bright red calyx which adds colour and flavour along with 23 other botanicals including Australian natives – strawberry gum, Tasmanian pepperberry and salt bush. Its important bitterness comes from various roots, in particular gentian from Aubrac in the Centre of France. The wine base is from Heathcote grapes fermented as rosé, which is fortified with the unique blend of botanical tinctures . The residual sugar, from grapes only, is around 100 g/l, indicating a more Aperitivo style but it is very well suited as a Bitter, to the growing category of low sugar/low alcohol cocktail.VermouthAustralia$50.00 As low as $45.00
