  1. Lallier Blanc de Blanc NV
    Lallier Blanc de Blanc NV
Cultivated with 100% Chardonnay grapes from two magnificent grand cru regions: Aÿ and the Côtes des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Oger), an approach pioneered in the late 90s by James Lallier, at a time when Chardonnay was chosen exclusively from Côte des Blancs. Perfectly timed harvesting to ensure that the grapes used in Blanc de Blancs Champagne are fully matured and at their pinnacle. Inspired by Lallier’s sincere respect and outstanding understanding of terroir, this pure Chardonnay is grown on chalky hillside plots, allowing the vine’s roots to penetrate deeper, providing excellent drainage, yet still retaining sufficient moisture for nourishment. A tribute to the legendary Champagne terroir.

  2. Lallier Blanc de Noirs NV
    Lallier Blanc de Noirs NV
This unique blend of regional grapes allows Blanc de Noirs to take Pinot Noir’s remarkable complexity to a new level of purity and deep character. The combination of maturation in stainless steel tanks (90%) with 228L wooden barrels (10%) adds to the blend complexity, while the long aging on lees and low dosage (7g/l) completes the Blanc de Noirs’s signature profile. A 100% Pinot Noir blend made with 70% of harvest of that year. The result is a powerful, refined and generous wine.

  3. Lallier R.020 Brut NV
    Lallier R.020 Brut NV
Sourced predominantly from the 2020 harvest, which makes up 81% of the blend. For the first time since the creation of Réflexion, Chardonnay dominates the blend at 51%. Grapes were sourced from over 50 crus within Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne and Montgueux for the Chardonnay, and Vallée de la Marne, Montagne de Reims and Côte des Bar for the Pinot Noir. An early harvest, starting in late August, yielded a superb quality of grapes, combining delivering intensity and freshness. The resulting base wine is strong, elegant and persistent, with a high maturity.

The NV Extra Brut L.P.M. is a pure Pinot Meunier from the Massif de St Thierry, all vinified in oak and kept on fine lees for 11 months before tirage. The base is mostly 2019. The nose has an overtone of roasted nuts. The palate just lets itself fall into a fine bed of yeast, made elastic and bouncy by freshness. The result is a fresh, energetic wine on surprisingly light feet, with much agility bedded on soft, pliable yeast. Lovely and gastronomic. Disgorged: December, 2022. ANNE KREBIEHL MW, vinous

62% pinot noir and 38% chardonnay from "La Riviere" vineyards from villages Cumieres and Chouilly. Rose created by a long and gentle infusion of pinot noir and co-fermented with chardonnay. The 2016 vintage was characterised by particularly marked weather variations: spring was cool, wet and relatively late whereas summer was warm and dry with a heatwave in late August followed by dry and sunny weather over the harvest period which was highly beneficial to the ripening of the grapes. 9. Thierry Fournier Blanc de Blanc NV
Thierry Fournier Blanc de Blanc NV
Julien explains that the Marne Valley vines sit in clay limestone soils, often giving richer Chardonnay notes than fruit from the Cote de Blancs. That said this is still very, very precise and fine with a rich mid palate for sure but then a precise, linear finish. To describe the flavour profile as ‘Chablis with bubbles’ would be perhaps to over-simplify things but this certainly makes for a sleek yet flavourful NV. Importer CellarHand

  18. Deutz Brut Vintage 2016
    Deutz Brut Vintage 2016
The generous and rounded style of 2016 is translated eloquently in the restrained house of Deutz with a primary and expressive blend of apple, pear, strawberry and fig. A friendly vintage to drink young. TYSON STELZER

The nose of the Deutz Brut Millésimé 2016 reveals itself to us with a delicate medley of fruit and pastry notes (apricot and peach tarts) interwoven with white flowers and ground almonds. The palate is direct on entry and shows a lovely vibrant character. Discreet notes of perfectly ripe yellow fruit and flowers are in keeping with the aromas perceived on the nose. The mid-palate gains in complexity to reveal delicate aromas of lovely ripe almonds. The finish is beautifully fresh and mineral with an almost saline dimension to it.

Deutz Amour de Deutz Blanc de Blancs Vintage 2013
100% chardonnay from Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, with a little Oger, Chouilly, Vertus and 4% Ville Marmery; aged 9 years on lees; disgorged 31 May 2022.

There's a compelling contrast here between the elegance of the house in this cool, late harvest, and a real presence of confidence and intensity that encapsulate the strength of Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The dancing purity of the season furnishes a fantastic core of lemon, white peach, grapefruit and nashi pear, but faintly brushed with the brioche and honey of age, a quiet declaration of the slow-motion evolution of great things to come. The grand acidity of 2013 unites with a deep ocean of salt-infused minerality in a mesmerising upwelling of pure, crystalline chalk that glitters and froths though a finish of epic line and length. The cool, restrained mood of 2013 charges Amour with a surge of energy that thrusts it long into the future of potential, confirming a brilliant Blanc de Blancs and the greatest since the spellbinding 2008. A blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier, this extra-brut sparkling (3g/l dosage) is both rich and elegant. Golden in the glass, there's a lively shot of citrus lemon zest with subtle edges of caramel and toast. Nicely gourmet in style, this balances high acidity, zingy and vibrant fruit with a full body and firm structure. Soft perfumed florality is evident as well as grapefruit, lime and toasted brioche. Made every year to showcase the vintage, this is fresh with plenty of life ahead. decanter

    Delamotte Blanc de Blanc 2018
The 2018 Brut Blanc de Blancs is a blend of fruit from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Oger, Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry, six villages in the Côte des Blancs. Crushed rocks, mint, slate, lemon peel and green pear lend notable freshness. Like most wines in this vintage, the Blanc de Blancs is airy and medium-bodied in structure, but it shows lovely tension and fine balance. There's plenty of Delamotte class, in an understated style. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous

The Delamotte 2018 Blanc de Blancs is showing well today, evoking a gourmand, complex bouquet of pastry, almonds, ripe orchard fruits, spices and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied, layered and chiseled, it’s enveloping and round with a fleshy core of fruit, though not as fleshy as the 2012, concluding with a tense and long finish. The 2018 Extra Brut Inattendue is a pure Chardonnay picked in Ludes and Rilly La Montagne. Slight creaminess and fresh, ripe yellow apple flesh appears on the nose. The palate is clearly very youthful with its foamy, exuberant mousse taking center stage and primary fruit still holding sway, deliciously so. This is bright, fresh and vivid, but there is dimension beyond fruit and freshness that shows pure and concentrated fruit . Dosage 3gr/ L Disgorged 2023. ANNE KREBIEHL MW, vinous

I love Manzanilla, and I often drink it when I’m out and about… Salty, nutty, chamomile, sourdough bread before it hits the oven, a light honey and mint thing too, lemon zest and green olives. It’s dry and nutty, distinctly saline, fine chalky texture, green olive brine and pistachio, with a tangy, zesty and nutty finish of excellent length. It’s fresh and sharp, (as it should be), but also a little wild, and gee, it’s a very good expression of Manzanilla. The crunch on the finish seals it. Yes. (94) GARY WALSH

  39. Laherte Freres Nature de Craie NV
Laherte Freres Nature de Craie NV

Disgorged April 2022. For a number of vintages, Aurélien Laherte has been experimenting with a sans soufre (zero sulphur) cuvée. In 2018 he cracked it with two barrels of Côte des Blancs juice, drawn from two Premier Cru terroirs in Vertus and Voipreux. Laherte noted that the key factors to the stability of vinifying in the absence of any additions were zero dosage and full malolactic conversion.
The third release of Laherte’s Nature de Craie is drawn from a single vintage (2020) drawn from parcels planted in 1960, 1965 and 1987. The word craie refers to the chalky soil of these terroirs, which lie on the lower slopes ensuring good exposure, in turn providing ripeness of fruit and no need for additional dosage. From hand-harvested and traditionally pressed fruit, this release was vinified in neutral oak barrels before aging on cork for 12 months. It was disgorged in April with no dosage. Bibendum

Frerejean Freres FJF NV Extra Brut Premier Cru
Revealing aromas of toasted nuts, yellow orchard fruit and dried orange rind, the latest release of the NV Brut Premier Cru is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with a pinpoint mousse and a rich but lively core of fruit, concluding with a biscuity finish. William Kelley, ROBERT PARKER
