Vincent Couche Chloe Brut Nature NV

A new producer for me. This is biodynamic farmed, grower-producer gear, zero additives, including no sulphur used in this cuvee. It’s two thirds pinot noir, one third chardonnay. Champagne Vincent Couche is located in the edgier, fringe sub-region of Chablis, Côte des Bar. Down there you seem to get these smaller producers doing edgier, interesting things. This is a great example. A superb wine.
Brilliant wine, textural and vinous, sparked with frisky, tight fizz but all saline, minerally, nutty and creamy, with a zig and zag of lemon, crunchy green apple and pulpy grapefruit tang the main deal. It’s Jura by way of Chablis via Champagne, if you want a story, but the wine sitting in front of me is rapidly disappearing as I hound at my glass, so let’s nail this. Mouth-watering, character filled, authentic and very, very good wine here. MIKE BENNIE, The Wine Front
