This is a blend with grenache Blanc grown at the De Bortoli Melville's vineyard on the eastern edge of the Rutherglen region. The marsanne and roussanne are grown on the De Bortoli Shelley's Vineyard which is approximately 800m from the Melvilles Vineyard.
Picked in the cool of the morning and handled gently with non-oxidative winemaking techniques and cool temperatures at every stage. The wines were 100% fermented in stainless steel tanks to ensure they maintained all of their varietal freshness, crispness and great acidity.
The palate is fresh and crisp with a crunchy drinkability and textural mouth-filling palate. The blend has flavours of pears, apples, minerals and herbs, which follows onto the palate with a delicate richness and textured dry finish.

Domaine La Soumade Rasteau 2020Andre Romero founded Domaine Soumade in 1979 and is now considered perhaps the finest producer in the region. The village of Rasteau was elevated to AOC status alongside Chateauneuf du Pape and Gigondas and 2010, and we find that while the styles are similar there is more freshness in Rasteau than the other two. The Cuvee Prestige is a gorgeous wine, made from a classic blend of Grenache (70%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvedre (10%) made with an extensive fermentation and maceration of nearly four weeks to extract colour, favour and tannins, following very gentle maturation in a combination of old 4,000L oak vats (foudres) and concrete tanks. Domaine la Roubine La Grange de Briguieres Sablet 2022The personality of the maker - generous and jovial - is on full display via black and red fruits while blue florals and the liquorice that jumps out of the glass, give the wine it's aromatic swagger. On the palate too, it's direct; big on flavour and impact with that same red and black fruited attack laying the groundwork for a more complex array of mineral, hung meat, liquorice, dried herbs and smoke. Pretty much like falling head first into a hypothetical vat the Southern Rhone itself. Medium to full bodied with plenty of structure to cope with anything from the bbq to the one-pot wonder.

Red and blue fruits, violet and lavender lift, some tapenade elements. Beautiful lilting aromatics. The palate is supple, plush and slippery couching raspberry and black cherry alongside some licorice and mineral. A touch of fresh crushed raspberry, some black cherry, and a wild earthen note pocked with meadow herbs. It's all turned up a notch with an extra level of concentration and broad, sweeping fruit and flavour that envelopes the palate then slowly melts away leaving earthy, charred herbs and a little wild note on the close. Santiago Ruiz Rosa Ruiz Albarino 2023A touch of skin contact and extended lees maturation gives this wine a stonier feel than the O Rosal bottling. Raised in small stainless-steel vessels to enrich the texture, it's a chiselled Albariño showing engaging purity, top notes of ripe lemon and sea spray, with plenty of surface and lingering traces of tangy acidity and chalk. Taking its cues from its granite soils, it is a cracking example of the grape and the region.
