Serrat Pinot Noir 202525% whole bunches and matured in 500L French oak casks (25% new). A medium-bright crimson ruby. In contrast to the more delicate, fragrant Nenagh Park Pinot, Serrat's home block has produced a wine with aromas of black cherry, blood orange, rosebush and graphite. The palate is medium bodied, concentrated and with chiselled tannins that augur well for anyone who still has a bottle or three in their cellar eight to 10 years from now. Serrat Shiraz Viognier 20255% whole bunches; co-fermented with 5% viognier. Matured in 500L French oak (25% new). Deep purple. Aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant pastilles, violets and white pepper can all be found in the concentrated, multi-faceted bouquet. It's voluptuous without being heavy on the palate. The flavours go on and on, as do the fine-grained and exceptionally persistent tannins. It's balanced enough to drink now but it will also reward 10 years, or more, in your cellar. Super wine. Serrat Grenache Noir 202525% whole bunches with 14 days on skins. Matured in one 600L French cask. A bright ruby red. Aromas of bright red fruits, pomegranate, aromatic herbs and fragrant rose petal that emerge the more the wine sits in the glass. The palate is equally complex and energetic, with silky, persistent tannins auguring well for those that still have a bottle or two six to eight years from now. Another lovely cool-fruited, cool-climate grenache from Serrat. (97 - GOLD MEDAL) PHILIP RICH, www.winecompanion.com2025Australia506 -
Serrat Chardonnay 2025Barrel fermented and matured in two seasoned 600L French oak barrels and two 500L barrels (one new). Brightly coloured. An intense bouquet of stone fruits, citrus, preserved ginger and sea spray. Mouth-filling and beautifully balanced on the palate before finishing saline and long. Will be starting to hit its straps by the time it's released and will continue to blossom over the next five to seven years at least. Serrat Autre Terres Pinot Noir 2025This is the fourth and final release from the Nenagh Park Vineyard, mainly MV6 is present in the is wine. The cool easy facing vineyard on the Christmas Hills range again performed so well in the mild 24 vintage.
The wine is very lifted and perfumed with loads of red fruits and noticeable strawberry/cherry lift, the florals are there and it is an enticing and pure aroma, with more depth and complexity as the wines opens up. It seems to me to be more complex than the 23.
The palate is rounded and silky with real depth and intensity. A spicy cherry and floral fragrance persist and the length is impressive. The tannins and extremely silky and fine and it just flows effortlessly across the palate. TOM CARSON2025Pinot noirAustralia506 -
Serrat Autre Terres Tasmania Pinot Noir 2025This is third release of this exploration of the apple isle, this year from a single site located in the Coal river valley. A mix of Pommard and MV6 clone, a small portion of whole bunch and aged in 500L French oak puncheons.
This an impressive wine from a cracking vintage down in Tassie. It is quite dark in color with a purple edge, darker brambly fruit with a lovely violet floral lift, extremely pure and enticing and complex. The palate is incredibly silky and detailed, it flows across the palate and has some lovely firm tannins adding depth and concentration. It will continue to improve for many years. Serrat Autre Terres Nenagh Park Chardonnay 2025These are original vines from the 1989 planted, so marking their 25th year in style. It’s the old Australian clone of Penfolds 58, highly regarded by winemakers around the country. The site is south east facing so only catching the morning sun and well sheltered from the afternoon heat.
The wine shows it’s cool site grapefruit, citrus leaf and blossom with a stoney and flinty edge. The palate is tightly coiled and more mineral focused, taut and chiseled. It’s long and expressive and focused. TOM CARSON2025Pinot noirAustralia506
