  1. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet 2022
    Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet 2022
Assemblage across the village from borders with Chassagne to Meursault. Pale in colour and with a little oak present at the moment, out from under which emerge the floral notes which are so much a part of Puligny. Ripe grapes yet well handled, with a fine aftertaste. JASPER MORRIS MW

The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet "Composition Parcellaire" has a fresh and delineated nose, quite focused, with Granny Smith apple and light flinty notes. The palate is well balanced with a fresh entry, tensile and quite Zen-like. A crisp, orange-rind-tinged finish lingers in the mouth. Very fine. NEAL MARTIN

  2. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Meursault Vielles Vignes 2023
Domaine Pernot-Belicard Meursault Vielles Vignes 2023
High-toned fragrance here - that's a beautiful invitation. A little more direct, melting, mineral-even, but the middle and finishing flavours are wider and just beautiful. The finish has a little more barrel character but you will hardly notice in 12 months. Beautifully fading in the finish - a simply excellent Meursault - I love it! BILL NANSON, The Burgundy Report

Pale lemon colour. The nose is hard to tease out at first. The palate though shows good concentration, with adequate acidity and a feeling of tension. The fruit is just perfectly ripe and extends well at the finish. Rounded in style but racy to finish. JASPER MORRIS MW

2024- The 2024 Meursault Vieilles Vignes comes from two parcels in Les Pellans and Les Pelles Dessus, raised in around 20% new oak. This has quite an energetic bouquet, a little feistier than the other cuvées, with touches of lemon balm and menthol accompanying the citrus fruit. The palate is very well balanced with gentle grip, modest weight, a little waxy in texture with good extract on the leesy finish and a dash of pepper on the aftertaste. NEAL MARTIN

Three barrels, three vineyards, from two sources. Pale lemon yellow. Tight and tense, in fact remarkably lean for the vintage, with fair length and good acidity. JASPER MORRIS MW

    Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet 2021
Pale colour with a stylish nose, quite typical of the appellation in its precision. This kicks on rather more at the back, compared to the Meursault and finishes very well. JASPER MORRIS MW

Like the Meursault, here we have an inviting floral perfume. Wide, a little more structured than the Meursault - an architecture. Less mineral but more intense with a juicy citrus finishing character. A (small case) strictness here vs the Meursault - this is dangerous wine! In terms of completeness maybe the Meursault is better today - but I'm splitting hairs. BILL NANSON, The Burgundy Report

The nose has a certain reduction and a greater sense of class. The fruit soars on the palate, with fine tension, and a sense of graceful plumpness, with a long and quite complex finish. Clearly greater class here in the pure white fruit mode JASPER MORRIS MW

  7. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Beaune Premier Cru Les Pertuisots 2022
Domaine Pernot-Belicard Beaune Premier Cru Les Pertuisots 2022
Mid lemon colour. A little touch of oak, a more generous fruit, soft white orchard fruit, I think this will become more opulent with time, but there is enough acidity behind, and good length JASPER MORRIS MW

2024 - The 2024 Beaune Pertuisots 1er Cru Blanc sees around 20% new oak with 11 months on the lees, blended in tank where it stays for another three months. It has a quite stony, malic nose with scents of fresh green apple mixed with pear and light undergrowth. Fine definition. The palate is well balanced with a slightly softer, more malleable texture compared to the Bourgogne Côte d'Or, palpable mineralité bubbling up towards the finish that has an edginess and sapidity drawing you back for more. Worth seeking out. NEAL MARTIN

  8. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Beaune Premier Cru Les Pertuisots 2023
Domaine Pernot-Belicard Beaune Premier Cru Les Pertuisots 2023
WORTH A SPECIAL SEARCH - A really expressive, wide nose with a small grain of complexity - aromatically I might guess a Meursault, blind. Hmm, in the mouth that melts beautifully over the palate - complex, some very well integrated barrel - I would guess a good villages Meursault in quality level - it finishes deliciously. Bravo Beaune! BILL NANSON, The Burgundy Report

Mixed yellow fruits of modest dimension, quite good acidity, fair length. Not quite in harmony but with plenty to like, and better length than I first thought. JASPER MORRIS MW

  9. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Meursault Premier Cru Perrieres 2022
Domaine Pernot-Belicard Meursault Premier Cru Perrieres 2022
Clear pale colour. This has energy on the nose without much detail yet. Good clean fruit builds steadily, white orchard fruit, some weight. Generous and with excellent length, the white flesh keeps building, accompanied by adequate acidity. JASPER MORRIS MW

2024 - The 2024 Meursault Les Perrières Dessous 1er Cru, which comes from a 0.24-hectare parcel bordering the Puligny appellation, has a very backward, almost "grumpy" bouquet at the moment, annoyed at being disturbed so young. Very stony and austere, this will definitely require bottle age. The palate is well balanced and comes to life on the entry with citrus peel, spice box and white pepper notes, even a touch of fennel that underlies a seam of crushed stone. It gains intensity towards the finish as if compensating for the muted aromatics with a very persistent aftertaste. Again, you have to be patient but it will be worth waiting for. NEAL MARTIN

  10. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Meursault Premier Cru Perrieres 2023
Domaine Pernot-Belicard Meursault Premier Cru Perrieres 2023
A vertical nose that still has some breadth in the high tones. Wide but at the same time still with a more incisive intensity of flavour. Then a rolling wave of complexity over the tongue into the finish. That's a properly great finish - what an excellent Perrieres. BILL NANSON, The Burgundy Report

This comes from a well-placed plot in lower Perrieres near to the border with Puligny. There is an amplitude of fruit and a creamy texture, with some valuable mineral aspects right at the back. Good weight and length. JASPER MORRIS MW

  11. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Champs Canet 2022
Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Champs Canet 2022
This has what is beginning to look alike the vintage characteristic of generosity, even sunniness of fruit, yet with a fresh enough structure to keep the balance, and no sensation of heat. Fine, with a particularly long finish. JASPER MORRIS MW

2024 - It has a little more penetration and intensity on the nose compared to the Champ Gain, heightened mineralité with touches of petrichor and wet limestone developing in the glass. The palate is taut and fresh with a menthol-tinged opening, fine weight, a little more exotic than the Champ Gain thanks to that discreet menthol note on the finish. Fine. NEAL MARTIN

  12. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Perrieres 2022
Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Perrieres 2022
Very pale colour with plenty of apples on the nose. The fruit starts quietly but there is notable intensity in the middle of the palate which marries well with the final acidity. This is still quite backward but promises well. JASPER MORRIS MW

2024 - The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru comes from a 0.53-hectare parcel planted in 1955. This has a very engaging bouquet with more floral scents (dandelion) entwined with citrus lemon and green apple aromas. Very well defined, and the 33% new oak is very well integrated. The palate is fresh and sapid right from the start, very cohesive and well defined, gaining depth towards the finish that lingers in the mouth, its salinity and mineralité beckoning you back for more. Excellent. NEAL MARTIN

WORTH A SPECIAL SEARCH - A nicely vibrant nose of mineral depth - a fine invitation. Large and fresh - ooh there's energy here - complexity attached to that too. Mouth-watering too - I simply love that - bravo! BILL NANSON, The Burgundy Report

  14. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Pucelles 2022
Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Pucelles 2022
From two plots, one below Chartron's pillars and a young vine next to Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, lower down. Pale lemon in colour, and notably more elegant than the Folatières. Fine, and elegant. There is notable delicacy on the palate while still delivering some intensity. Very good. JASPER MORRIS MW

2024 - The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru is another cuvée that is technically négociant, as the fruit is bought from his father, though it will revert to Domaine once the holdings are divided. This has a little more intensity than the Folatières, again very well defined, here a tad richer and more intense in style. The palate is lively and fresh, well defined and vibrant, quite spicy in the mouth with good intensity on the finish. This has real style and grace - excellent. NEAL MARTIN

Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Pucelles 2023
Not the same aromatic impact but there's width and it has my attention! That is beautifully proportioned - melting, mineral, classy flavoured - not full impact or concentration - the Perri?es is better in this respect but here is very class terroir with still a super impressive length. BILL NANSON, The Burgundy Report

From two plots, next to Bienvenues-B?tard-Montrachet, and the larger plot with older vines below the pillars of Clos des Folatieres. A clean pale colour, with some tension on the nose, more than fruit concentration, though the palate speaks more of the latter and delivers a fairly classical Pucelles with its steely backbone. Good length here. JASPER MORRIS MW

Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Folatieres 2022
Pale to mid lemon yellow. A solid bouquet with some concentration, perhaps less finesse. Smoky notes here, a little barrel too, with concentrated grapes as well! JASPER MORRIS MW

2024 - This has a tightly wound, stony, almost austere bouquet that suggests bottle age is needed. The palate is well balanced with a silver bead of acidity, quite precise with impressive sapidity and a discrete underlying bitterness that keeps this Puligny on edge all the way through. Very promising but patience required NEAL MARTIN

High tones, cushioned with a suggestion of smoke and flashes of minerality at the base. That's really silky but concentrated too. Then opens out even further in the finish. Expressive, delicious wine. BILL NANSON, The Burgundy Report

F du travers, behind the trees and Peu Bois. This is actually very stylish, with a floral note, then a wealth of white orchard fruit, a fine acid balance, a little toasty note from the barrel, then a long supple finish. JASPER MORRIS MW

  18. Domaine Pernot-Belicard Batard Montrachet 2022
    Domaine Pernot-Belicard Batard Montrachet 2022
Three plots, one above Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, one by Clos Poirier and the main block which is below the gate into Domaine Jacques Prieur's Montrachet. The Bâtard is notably more substantial than the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, delivering a significant block of white orchard fruit, and a more complete structure to finish. It will repay keeping. JASPER MORRIS MW

2024 - The 2024 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from the Chassagne side of the climat. This is actually quite similar to the Bienvenues at the moment, a little tight, perhaps showing a little more marine, oyster shell influence. The palate is certainly more precise by comparison, tensile and demonstrating the weight you expect from a Grand Cru. Very impressive persistence with that dab of oyster shell and spice that lingers on the aftertaste, this has a lot of potential. Superb. NEAL MARTIN

Domaine Pernot-Belicard Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Champs Canet 2023
WORTH A SPECIAL SEARCH - A nose of Puligny tension - mainly yellow citrus but a small support of minerality too. Extra breadth of mineral flavour - widescreen. A touch of finishing salinity - I love this - not overtly oaked vs some - that's just ultra-delicious wine - bravo! BILL NANSON, The Burgundy Report

Back to the pale lemon colour. Much more exuberant, lemon, and some passion fruit, medium length, plenty of charm. Immediate richness, one to approach young if one wants. JASPER MORRIS MW
