Albert Mann Gewurztraminer Furstentum Grand Cru 2023The 2023 Gewurztraminer Furstentum Grand Cru immediately charms with crushed citrus foliage that is fragrant, citrus-scented and bright. This comes down to Albert Mann's own massal selection, which eschews rose and lychee notes. With more air, the wine shows a touch of peach. The palate is absolutely juicy with Reine Claude plum, wonderfully kissed with gentle fruit sweetness of 23 grams per liter and edged with zestiness. The finish rings with zest and puts a very different spin on Gewurztraminer. (Off-dry) (96) ANNE KREBIEHL MW, vinous
Still extremely young, but it's not difficult to see that this medium- to full-bodied gewurz has incredible concentration and great balance. So succulent, yet such amazing chalky minerality. The drive in the compact and focused finish is off the scale. This fermented very long, so was late-bottled. Try to be patient for this masterpiece from an unfashionable grape. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2027. (98) JAMES SUCKLING

Albert Mann Riesling Furstentum Grand Cru 2020The 2020 Riesling is made from three plots on the mid-slope of the Furstentum Grand Cru, on limestone. The nose brims with lifted hayflower and wild thyme. The palate has the inherent coolness of limestone, in complete contrast to the sunny ripeness of the fruit, a wonderful counterpoint of hot sun and cool stone, made mouth-watering with the flavor of salted lemon. The chalky stoniness becomes even more apparent on the finish. Hair-raising stuff with no residual sweetness at all. (Bone-dry) (96) ANNE KREBIEHL MW, vinous
Beautiful ripe-apricot and orange aromas pour from glass and, on the palate, this makes a bold statement, thanks to the generous fruit and ample body. But this is not just full and ripe. There's also a dark side to the wine, with hints of earthiness and bitterness that really add excitement. Excellent aging potential. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Albert Mann Pinot Gris Furstentum Grand Cru 2023Remarkably cool, delicate and dry for a grand cru from this grape. Seamless harmony of restrained creamy richness with lively and silky acidity. Not super-concentrated, but this has great harmony. I love the Mirabelle plum, honeysuckle and melon aromas. Long, clean and graceful finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
