The Brut Cuvée Spéciale Les Chétillons is quite frankly a revelation. It is also one of the wines of this very challenging vintage. Candied lemon peel, white flowers, sage, mint, tangerine and pastry abound. The savory elements that are typical of the year are nearly buried by the sheer richness and concentration of the fruit. Given the trajectory of so many 2011 Champagnes, I would not push my luck with the 2011 Chétillons, but there is no doubt this is an impressive effort from Rodolphe Péters. ANTONIO GALLONI
