A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, one-third of the 2016 Lirac was aged in barrel, the remainder in tank. There's a hint of cedar and baking spices apparent on the nose but also plenty of cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it's silky, balanced and mouthwatering, with ample length and hints of black tea on the finish. 90 JOE CZERWINSKI
