Chateau Coupe Roses Les Plots 2019This family affair is a talented one with Françoise Frissant an agronomistand Mathias Paicheler, Sarah Frissant and Pascal Frissant all Oenologists. Today the vineyard holdings total 143 acres with an assortment of some 40 plots in total. At 750 - 1350 ft above sea level these are some of the highest sites in the AOC. The warm days and cool nights result in one the longest growing seasons in the region. Incredibly, they are often picking two weeks behind the rest of the low-lying vineyards that surround them.
Hand harvested and 100% de-stemmed blend of Syrah, Grenache and a touch of Carignan. This sees no oak with 1 year in stainless steel. A lovely lifted violet flecked nose that's pretty and perfumed, full of brambly wild red and black fruits that are jubey and bright. It's super enticing and delivers on the palate with the same colour scheme of wild fruits. It's mid-weight and nicely poised with fine grained tannins that melt away into the long finish. Holds itself nicely with a bounce in its step.

Chateau du Rouet Cuvee Reserve Cotes de Provence Rose 2021 375mlNever judge a book buy it's cover right? Mostly, you see the colour of this and you at least know you are on good footing to begin with. It's pale, like a blush of peach. Properly dry with a splash of sweet citrus, mandarin, ripe red grapefruit, a just tart orange aspect and then some lovely peach notes. All this is underpinned by a bright, clear, palate cleansing freshness and a nice pithy texture that licks at the sides of your mouth. It's long and energising, it both slackens the thirst with its buoyant, uplifting feel and engages the old taste buds and sets the salivary glands quivering. Who doesn't love Rose like this? It's so enjoyable to drink. ROSCOE2021Carignan, Grenache, MourvedreFrance460$25.00 As low as $22.50

Domaine Terrebrune Bandol Rose 2020
Limpid orange. Mineral-accented blood orange, strawberry, floral and succulent herb scents show fine definition and pick up a spicy nuance with air. Chewy and densely packed yet energetic and sharply focused on the palate, offering vibrant red berry, bitter cherry, citrus pith and honeysuckle flavors and a deeper peach pit flourish. The mineral and floral notes return on the very long, precise finish. JOSH RAYNOLDS, vinous.com
50% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache, 25% Cinsault. An exceptional expression of Bandol Rose. Brilliant Sites, considered farming (organic) & purposeful wine making.

Gueissard Le Petit G IGP Mediterranée Rosé 2021The Little G that all the homies want to be. Made with a lot of care considering its level – grapes are hand harvested and manually sorted for starters. Provence style through and through, it’s of beautiful salmon shade, with a nose of zesty citrus, mandarin and satsuma, the palate fruit driven and crunchy, with some of Gueissard’s house style showing through – a teeny bit of guava skin, red currants, tangarine/mandarin juice, and a herbal undertow. Jules Mediterranean Rose 2022
Hugh and Jane Faulkner fell in love with a vineyard, situated on the foothills of the Masif des Maures, in the centre of the Var, and settled at the property in 1989. Their eldest son Julian would eventually take over the running of the vineyard in 2000. A shrewd wine businessman and talented vigneron, Julian established the Jules label with the mission to craft delicious, accessible, and great value wines with single estate personality.
Another killer Rose from Jules! The 2022 is dangerously easy to drink. Hints of citrus peel and cranberry/red currant fruits on the nose. Strawberries and cream, sea spray, and slightly herbaceous on the palate, with a focused salinity. The personality of the 2022 is certainly of more precision and detail than previous releases. You would be crazy to not have a dozen of waiting in the wings for every time someone drops by for a drink on the patio or that last minute BBQ invite. De Bortoli 'Burgoyne's Block' Mourvedre Shiraz Grenache 2021
A typical Rhône blend of mourvèdre, shiraz and grenache that captures the juicy affability of the style. Deeply coloured with the rising scent of blackberry, mulberry, plum, vanilla and gently nutty spice. Impressive depth with sturdy, free-flowing tannins and balance. JENI PORT, James Halliday
What can we say about De Bortoli and the quality they punch out for often what seems like ridiculous pricing? Well we are not complaining. And hey have done it again. The Mourvedre and Grenache are grown on the DeBortoli Shelley’s Vineyard on the eastern edge of the Rutherglen region. The Shiraz comes from Burgoyne’s Block on a west facing slopes which helps to concentrate the Shiraz flavours. Alluring aromas and flavours of spice, cherry and red berry fruits. This full flavoured, medium bodied, well balanced blend finishes smoothly and is further enhanced by hints of French oak.

Delas Cote du Rhone Saint Esprit 2021
One of our favourite rhone reds year-in and year-out. There may be nothing quite as satisfying as a good value Rhone red and this one always delivers. Delas Freres is based in the beautiful northern Rhone with a large holding of their own vineyards supplemented by long-term relationships with quality growers all over the rhone. How they manage to put so much goodness into a bottle at this price is an astonishing feat to say the least.
While this indulgent red reflects the north’s regional dominance of Shiraz over Grenache, it reflects the darker fruits and a spicy earthiness often found in the southern Rhone, where this wine hails from. Silky rather than heavy, it still feels concentrated with bright, bubbly raspberry fruits complimented by a little dollop of wild, blackberry fruit. A waft of violets and pastille fruit just add to its appeal.

The Story Wines Super G Red Blend 2022It's not heavy but it's so wild with spice and so generally captivating that it's hard to put it down. This is a cracker of a wine. Red and blue berried fruit flavours, black pepper notes, a mezcal aspect and flings of roasted nuts. It's ripe and robust, in a mid-weight way, but the real key here is that it's aflame with roasted spice/pepper notes. Delas Cote du Rhone Ventoux 2021Delas Freres is a winery of tradition and renewal. Founded 160 years ago in the heart of the northern Côtes du Rhône, Delas wines are crafted by a panel of experts headed by winemaker Jacques Grange. Together, the team makes wines that have been heralded for their intensity of flavour and excellent value. Delas maintains a philosophy of preserving the authentic characteristics of each appellation through separate vinification of the fruit from each vineyard.
The Ventoux form Delas is always in a slightly lighter fresher style. We feel like it often gets over looked but from year to year it offers up the same quality and drinking pleasure of Delas' other rhone bottlings. Here, a little more red cherry and currant fruit is to the fore with white & black pepper sprinkling that slowly fades giving way to more heady luxe spice in the glass. It tips past the mid-point into slightly more fuller then in some years but is plenty vibrant and fresh. Fine tannins support the supple and open fruits. Another winner!2021GSM, Mourvedre, shirazFrance467Special Price $19.00 Regular Price $23.00 -
Chateau du Rouet Cuvee Reserve Cotes de Provence Rose 2022A lovely lift of red cherries, pomegranate and white nectarines leads into a fleshy and textured core. Subtle herbal tones of fennel and dried thyme and wild strawberries join in the chorus too. There's presence and intensity thanks to the riper 2022 vintage, balanced by a spine of chalky acidity. Pleasing phenolics on the finish add a tantalising chew, like biting through peach skins. A hint of white pepper to finish adds a twist (reminds me of adding pepper to strawberries, shouldn't work but it does!). Keep this delightful thirst slaker on hand this summer. GABRIELLE POY, PWS
Around 60% Grenache with 30% Cinsault and a touch of the traditional Tibourenc grape the harvests are done at night to maintain freshness and the light maceration’s performed in temperature-controlled tanks to help maintain a wonderful lift to the wines. This results in a complex Rose that skirts the line beautifully between the richer Rose’s of Bandol but with the more delicate hand of Provence. Quin Wines Barossa Valley Rose 2022Mataro sourced from Aldo's vineyard in the southern Barossa parish of Williamstown. Pale salmon in the glass with notes of redcurrant, raspberry, red cherry and citrus fruits along with hints of white flowers, marzipan, stone, raspberry cream and a whiff of freshly cut fennel. Super-sapid porcelain acidity drives this along nicely, and there's a wee slink of texture to boot, finishing dry, red-fruited and clanging for some food. DAVE BROOKES, James Halliday
Andrew Quin and his wife Sky are a dynamic couple behind Quin Wines. Both born and raised in Melbourne they purchased a 7 hectare vineyard in Seppeltfield in the heart of the Barossa Valley with the goal of making exceptional wines. As head winemaker for both Hentley Farm and Ricca Terra, Andrew knows how to make wine, and works closely with the viticulturalists to ensure he always has the best fruit to work with.2022MourvedreAustralia349$28.00 As low as $25.20 -

Domaine Gueissard Bandol Rose 2022
60% Mourvédre, 30% Cinsault, 10% Grenache. Screwcap.
The most classically Bandol release we've seen from this young gun, new wave producer - for us, driving flintiness is what defines the rosés of this region and sees them regarded as pinnacle expressions, with that character here in spades. The nose leaps out with cream, florals and cut passionfruit, the palate woven with quince, guava, red currants and again, passionfruit. Length, complexity and presence here though super refreshing all the way through.

Peach, blood orange, redcurrant, rosehip and dried flowers, a little nutmeg and spice, and a smattering of smoky dried herb. Solis Cotes de Provence Rose 2022
Solis Rose. This is the summer wine we have been waiting for. This is one of the best value Provence rose we have seen in some time and that is saying something given how much good pink is in the market at the moment.
This is pretty classic stuff in all the best ways. A touch of fresh strawberry, snappy red currants, white pepper, a touch of fairy-floss lift and oh-so-inviting sweetly floral nose. It follows with that same wild strawberry and red berry fruit all fleshy and bright with a rim of citrus peel and quartzy-like minerality edging. It punches way above its weight here and while it will go down a treat on a warms summers day its equally at home paired with any BBQ fair you might want to throw at it.

Courbissac Les Traverses Rouge Minervois 2021Les Traverses is drawn from the estate’s younger vines. It’s a blend of roughly equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, hand-harvested from 11 parcels surrounding the cellar in the heart of Cesseras within the La Livinière Cru of the Minervois appellation. As with all Claux’s wines, the fruit is farmed biodynamically and natural whole-bunch fermentation occurs in concrete vat with minimal sulphur. The grapes are gently foot-stomped, followed by six months in concrete. Bottled at 13%, this is cracking value, as always: a supple and juicy red with spicy brambly fruit and delicious plum-skin tanginess. A wine that tells us something of what the finest Minervois wines were once known for, and a wonderful introduction to this exciting domaine.2021Carignan, Grenache, Mourvedre, shirazFrance418$42.00 As low as $37.80
