Thymiopoulos Xinomavro Young Vine 2022A blend of higher altitude parcels around the village of Fytia and the warmer, lower elevation parcels
adjacent to the village of Trilofos. Vines are young and non-irrigated at an altitude 200-500 metres on Schist, granite and limestone. Naoussa’s region warm continental climate with moderate rainfall throughout the year. Cooling winds from Vermio mountain are crucial for the quality of the grapes.
Grapes are hand-picked, 75% destemmed, macerated for 12-15 days and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 3 months and 8 months in concrete tanks.
Fresh strawberries, cherries, and raspberries, potentially with hints of wild herbs, spices, and even a touch of floral elements weaving themselves in too. The palate offers a juicy and refreshing experience, with bright red and black fruits dominating. Kir-Yianni Naoussa Village Xinomavro PDO 2021NAOUSSA is produced from a strict selection of Xinomavros grown on both Estate (younger vines) and small vine growers’ parcels around the different areas of the PDO zone. The villages of Naoussa offer a most interesting diversification on their hilly terrain in terms of altitude, slope, soil structure, orientation etc. These conditions shape an intriguing mixture of meso-climates.
Vibrant red and black fruit on the nose, with aromas of strawberry, cherry, and plums. A crisp and fruit-forward mouth with delicate notes of sweet spices and tobacco. Classic red vinification and malolactic fermentation. The wine matures in 500L oak barrels for 24 months and then additional 6 months in ideal cellar conditions.
Pale red colour. Complex nose with aromas reminiscent of ripe red fruits, notes of spicy spices, herbs, tomato leaves and cedar. Full mouth with high acidity and tannins with a pleasant long aftertaste.

Casa Rojo Ribera del Duero Clon 98 2020100% Tinto Fino, from the area of Castrillo de la Vega, located at an average altitude of 800 meters, in the province of Burgos. The grapes come from old vineyards between 26 and 50 years old, all owned by viticulturists in the area. Fermented and aged (12 months) in concrete tanks.
Heading towards a more black fruit profile with a black currant, creme de mure thing going on and a hint bitcumen and turned earth. Mid-weight in style with nice concentration and push from the darker fruit profile. It delivers plenty of concentrated fruit but does it all with bounce and vibrancy at the same time.

Dry or Trocken style Rieslings from the Mosel don't get as much attention as the sweeter versions do and that is a shame. If this wine is anything to go by, I hope they are making bucket-loads more because this really floats my boat. It's all about fresh diced pear, green apple, a touch of peach and ripe citrus throughout. The palate sings with pure fruits, lemon drop and crushed white rock. Its finely shaped, zipping along buoyed by crystalline acidity that pierces the gently sweet fruits. It feels so full of life, bouncy and fresh. Love the purity of it all finishing emphatically dry but with plenty to keep you going back for more. I love the sweet stuff too, don't get me wrong, but this I could drink all day long. Sierra de Tolono La Dula Rioja Garnacha 2022I've always had a soft spot for her Garnacha, and the 2021 La Dula, with its floral, perfumed and expressive nose could be the finest vintage of this wine. It was produced with grapes from small ancient plots in Rivas de Tereso and matured in amphora and foudre for eight months. It's open, showy and terribly elegant, super young and fruit-driven, reminiscent of fresh grapes, not terribly complex but very pleasant and easy to drink. It has a medium-bodied palate with 13.5% alcohol and a serious and chalky texture. It should develop more complexity with time in bottle. 6,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2024. Weinbach Sylvaner 2022This is our second shipment of Weinbach’s Sylvaner, drawn from old vines in the Clos des Capucins. Sylvaner may have fallen down the Alsatian pecking order in recent decades, but you could hardly tell that from tasting Weinbach’s example. Old, biodynamically tended vines and low yields are just two key components to the quality and style. The fruit was pressed gently as whole clusters, then fermented with indigenous yeasts (an element of the terroir that enhances depth and complexity in the wines) in old oak vats. Sylvaner boasts relatively high acidity, which works a treat with the early-ripening, sandy and rocky terroir of Capucins. The result is a deliciously fruity, taut, salivating white with complex aromatics and plush concentration.
A biodynamic Sylvaner among thorns, the 2022 opens with golden orchard fruits, aromatic salts and a twist of savoury herbs, while the palate is packed with silky fruit and balanced by a mouth-watering spine of crystalline acidity. Impressive length, too.
