A real treat with musky, rose petal and ginger flecked aromatics sprinkled with a little white pepper chalky goodness. Super inviting and open aromatics that entice but with a little intrigue and a certain je ne sais quoi that capture you even more. Its lovely and pure, crispy tree fruits, some quince, a little citrus thrown in. Its thirst quenching stuff that will appeal to many.

Nico Lazaridi Cavalieri Assyrtiko 2023Alcoholic fermentation in graduated temperatures from 12 to 17?C in stainless steel tanks. Small part of the Assyrtiko ends its fermentation in oak barrels and matures for 6 months by performing the battonage. The rest of the wine stays in stainless tanks in contact with the fine lees.
Pronounced aromas of citrus, white stone fruit, botanical hints harmonically combined with notes of honey and jasmine, revealing the short maturation in oak barrels in the presence of fine lees. It is full bodied with a pleasantly high acidity and long aftertaste.

Yangarra Roux Beaute Roussanne 2023Predominantly from the oldest roussanne planting, a 1ha block, with a small parcel (15%) from younger vines for fragrance. The compression of power is becoming a key feature of what is one of Australia's finest white wines. It's refreshing to see the varietal hegemony of the usual suspects being consistently challenged. This, from a celebrated cool year, is at the start of a long and promising journey, somewhat shy, but layered with interest. Green almond, pear, pickled peach, pineapple quince, lemon balm, mint, young sage, oyster shell and a rocky, pumice-like mineral note, which is echoed by the ultrafine pithiness of the palate. Aromas of ripe pears and apricots sit alongside some lemon conserve, pink grapefruit and orange blossom scents. It’s a compelling mix that flows through onto the palate, which is gently textured, saline, and very well structured. I really like the touch of the grip on the finish too, and as good as this is now, this will age gracefully over the next five to seven years at least. Yeringberg Marsanne Rousanne 2016Marsanne 59%, Roussanne 41%. Our white Rhône blend is a subtle wine that displays restraint and quiet power. It starts subdued, with hints of pear, honeysuckle, lanolin and quince. With air it expands, building depth and breadth, showing notes of honey, lemon and jasmine. On the palate, it's both taut and well rounded, savoury and subtly pithy, but also spicy and gently viscous. It's a fabulous food wine that manages to complement both delicate and more fully flavoured dishes and, unusually, satisfies both white and red wine drinkers. Full of promise, the 2016 is certainly enjoyable now, and will continue to evolve over a number of years. SANDRA DE PURY

Broad and medium-weight with citrus peels, ginger snap biscuits. Sweet and with great depth. Apricot aromas develop then drift towards fruit salad. After a short time the wood come to the fore and water helps to release baked fruit.
PALATE
A complicated palate where the initial nose would lead you to expect plump fruits, what you get is a surprisingly dry element. The palate fleshes out as the first impact of the nose fades. Adding water brings out the caramelised elements balanced with the wood elements expected of a 15 year old.
