Thymiopoulos Xinomavro Young Vine 2022A blend of higher altitude parcels around the village of Fytia and the warmer, lower elevation parcels
adjacent to the village of Trilofos. Vines are young and non-irrigated at an altitude 200-500 metres on Schist, granite and limestone. Naoussa’s region warm continental climate with moderate rainfall throughout the year. Cooling winds from Vermio mountain are crucial for the quality of the grapes.
Grapes are hand-picked, 75% destemmed, macerated for 12-15 days and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 3 months and 8 months in concrete tanks.
Fresh strawberries, cherries, and raspberries, potentially with hints of wild herbs, spices, and even a touch of floral elements weaving themselves in too. The palate offers a juicy and refreshing experience, with bright red and black fruits dominating. Domaine Joly Cotes du Jura Poulsard 2022Managed by Cédric Joly, Domaine Joly encompasses approximately 6.5 hectares and offers a comprehensive range of Jura wines. The reds are vinified from fully destemmed grapes and fermented with indigenous yeasts, with about 15 days of skin contact. They age for a relatively short period of six to seven months, leading to an early release. Joly explains, "When I took over from my father 30 years ago, he instilled in me the idea that it's easier to correct a wine with a little chaptalization rather than playing around with artificial acidities. Yeringberg Marsanne Rousanne 2016Marsanne 59%, Roussanne 41%. Our white Rhône blend is a subtle wine that displays restraint and quiet power. It starts subdued, with hints of pear, honeysuckle, lanolin and quince. With air it expands, building depth and breadth, showing notes of honey, lemon and jasmine. On the palate, it's both taut and well rounded, savoury and subtly pithy, but also spicy and gently viscous. It's a fabulous food wine that manages to complement both delicate and more fully flavoured dishes and, unusually, satisfies both white and red wine drinkers.
