Mac Malden White Bresse Highland Single Malt (500ml)Quite a deep amber hue and a nutty, baked fig and cashew like nose. There is a little waft of peat but it is more reminiscent of catching a sniff of a distant fire rather than an in your face blast of smoke. Mac Malden Charolais 12YO Blended Malt Whiskey (500ml)A lighter almost aged sauternes like hue and golden colour. Quite savoury on the nose with almond meal, clove and desiccated coconut also playing a part aromatically. The palate is similar to what the nose suggests and is quite a plush, sweet and well rounded whiskey. This is quite serious but also really lovely, a great after dinner tipple.
