STAFF PICKS 2025 - MATT O'CONNOR

This wine has everything you want in a Bourgogne Blanc at the price - it has the undeniable fingerprint of chardonnay from Burgundy. Vibrant notes of ripe citrus, pear and yellow orchard fruits with just a hint of white flowers.  On the palate this wine delivers in spades - the fruit continues in the same vein and is supported by a subtle lick of vanillin oak.  There is a pure line of minerality that forms the core of the wine which injects an enticing energy into the wine.  It is a joy to drink! MATT

This is also notably ripe yet still reasonably fresh with its nose of pear and apple compote and floral top notes. The sappy, even plush, medium weight flavors possess acceptable punch that carries over to the delicious and agreeably dry finish. This is also relatively forward yet a year or two of keeping should add depth BURGHOUND

FOUR STARS - The fruit comes from six hectares Puligny. Mid lemon yellow. Also lightly reductive, but this time there is more flesh to the fruit, a more generous rendition - but up to you which you prefer, stones or flesh JASPER MORRIS MW

Light stony lemon aroma. Tight, beautifully dry, long and refined at this level. The aftertaste has a lovely creamy side to balance the dry texture and freshness. JULIA HARDING MW
