Here too the reticent if cool and airy nose only grudgingly reveals its array of mineral reduction, acacia blossom, exotic spice, just sliced citrus and tea scents. The wonderfully refined and beautifully textured middleweight plus flavors are akin to rolling tiny pebbles around the mouth on the chalky, youthfully austere and impeccably balanced finale that just goes on and on. As is virtually always the case, this is very much built-to-age and I would recommend not touching a bottle for at least 7 to 8 years and 10 would be better. ALLEN MEADOWS Burghound

A pretty lemon yellow. The wine is going to have power but is currently all in discretion. Only on the palate does the fruit open right out, opulent ripe pears, only just in balance. So much concentration of fruit that the acidity, which is present, is fully covered. JASPER MORRIS Inside Burgundy

The 2022 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has a wet stone-infused bouquet with razor-sharp delineation, almost "austere" compared to the Les Charmes. Transparent yet revealing a menthol tincture with aeration. The well-balanced palate has a keen thread of acidity, linear and taut, slightly more appley than the Charmes but with equal persistence. Superb. NEAL MARTIN Vinous

The 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières unwinds in the glass with scents of pear, citrus oil, white flowers and fresh hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure, it's a taut, precise wine, with a lively spine of acidity that carries through the long, saline finish. WILLIAM KELLY The Wine Advocate
