Giacosa’s Nebbiolo d’Alba uses fruit from Roero, with a long history alongside the Arneis and Nebbiolo Valmaggiore. The first bottling of both Arneis and Nebbiolo d’Alba occurred in 1974, sourced from the same growers. Arneis is grown on North-facing slopes, while Nebbiolo comes from the South.

A great introduction to the Giacosa style. Lingering aromatics, details and svelte textured. What's so special about nebbiolo? Start here and you'll see. Giacosa has long made this wine and the fruit has always been sourced from around the Roero area. This more demure fruit and structure the soils give from here suits the Giacosa style, allowing the aromatics to shine and the less oppressive tannins to allow you into the core of the wine without waiting too long. The 2023 is especially overt and ready to drink straight out of the gate. MICHAEL MCNAMARA, PWS
