Vibrant and bright on the nose, showing good fruit, a lifted peppery note and minerals. Fresh and al dente with medium to full body. Crunchy, vibrating tannins. So juicy, pristine and long. The 2023 El Escolladero is a blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano from Paraje El Meadero in Ábalos, Rioja, where the Miguel Blanco family owns the vineyard. Intensely aromatic, it opens with violet, lavender, pink grapefruit and dark fruit against a primary fruit backdrop. This is juicy and full-bodied, with a fine, chalky texture and notable depth.
