Aromas of camphor, red berry, violet and cedar abound on the fragrant 2022 Barolo Coste di Rose from G.D. Vajra along with whiffs of fine blend pipe tobacco and citrus. Enveloping and full-bodied, the palate delivers fleshy Amarena cherry, vanilla, orange zest and hints of grilled Porcini before a licorice finish alongside a backbone of velvety tannins. Fresh acidity lends balance and lifts the finish. Drink 2028-2034. KERIN O'KEEFE

A youthful bright ruby hue, the 2022 Barolo Coste di Rose is fresh and minty with aromas of ripe raspberries and pressed roses. Medium-bodied, it offers well-defined ripe tannins, refreshing acidity, and an immediacy that retains great clarity. Drink 2026-2042. AUDREY FRICKE

Floral, as is typical of this estate, with crunchy red fruit and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied, with a blanket of delicate, tender fruit defined by chalky, precise yet silky tannins. Drinkable now with proper aeration, but will improve with some bottle age. JACOBO GARCIA ANRDADE, jamessuckling.com
