SPECIAL VALUE - Made from sangiovese (73%) off two sites in Seaview, and estate-grown, young vine grenache (27%) in the Willunga foothills. The colour is in a classic zone, but on the assertive end, with flavours similarly, though not aggressively, forthright. Cherry, raspberry, Campari, white pepper, a brush of hardy herbs; it’s a gastronomic style, or rather a transitional one, with aperitif appeal quietly ushering towards food. It does both things well.
