Silkman Reserve Semillon 2023

We sourced our Reserve Semillon fruit from two outstanding parcels both off sandy loam soils. Both Vineyards are Old Vine with first plantings in the 1970's. The vineyards are true old treasures of the Hunter Valley; low cropping delivering fruit with great texture and intensity.
Hand harvested, the juice was quickly extracted from the fruit chilled and gently fined with milk before cold settling. We fermented with neutral yeast to allow true expression of the fruit in the wine. The wine was allowed to stay on lees for 4 weeks; building a fine and textural palate. Minimal intervention has allowed a classic seamless Hunter Valley Semillon which drinks beautifully as young Semillon or will reward those that wait.
Vibrant pale green in colour, pristine aromas of delicate citrus notes dominate the nose and carry to the palate. A seamless long and elegant wine that is built with layers of crunchy acid and flavours of white peach and citrus peel.
