  1. Yeringberg Shiraz 2015
    Yeringberg Shiraz 2015

Excellent dark purple hue, thanks to a splash of viognier. It's a glorious, perfectly pitched cool climate shiraz with a lot packed into it, yet retains an elegance on its medium-bodied palate. Heady aromas of dark and red fruits, black pepper, some pine needles/garrigue notes and a fleck of charry-wood spices from the otherwise integrated oak. There's a suppleness, juiciness on the palate, and a savoury note that tempers the fruit, the tannins fine and detailed with the acidity, like a refreshing squirt of raspberry juice. (96) JAMES HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION

Deep violet. Heady blackberry and cherry preserve aromas are complicated by suggestions of exotic spices, olive, cola and pungent flowers. Gently chewy, appealingly sweet black and blue fruit and violet pastille flavors deepen and turn spicier with air, and a smoky mineral flourish adds lift and back-end cut. Slow-building tannins add grip to an extremely long, floral-tinged finish that leaves star anise and cracked pepper notes behind. (95) JOSH RAYNOLDS, Vinous

Impeccable wine. Needs a few years to integrate fully but its cherry-plum flavour, swoosh of smoked cedarwood, lifted spice notes and meaty/clovey aftertaste are all presented in immaculate shape and form. It's fresh, frisky almost, with finely inscribed tannin and excellent length. Elegance in a glass. CAMPBELL MATTINSON

  2. Yeringberg Shiraz 2022
    Yeringberg Shiraz 2022

A medium crimson purple. A gentle wine in '22, you'll find aromas of red and blue fruits together with loads of white pepper, spice and fresh flowers. There's a little meatiness too, which follows onto the medium-bodied, elegant yet persistent palate. A touch closed at present; this will open up and become more perfumed and silkier over the next three to five years and beyond. (95) JAMES HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION

Perfumed and elegant aromas of dark cherries, Damson plums, cassia bark, potpourri and pepper. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with fine tannins and bright acidity, giving notes of wild blackberries, sweet spices, violets and dried herbs. Refined and pure with a savory edge. 3. Yeringberg Cabernets 2018
    Yeringberg Cabernets 2018

A gentle Yeringberg, with its heady fragrance of mulberries, florals, cedary oak and the kitchen cupboard full of spices and herbs. So enticing. The palate is medium-bodied, with astonishingly fine, powdery tannins, finishing long and pure. As usual, an elegant wine that delights now and will do more so in a few years' time. (96) JAMES HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION

The 2018 is deep purple in colour, with an inviting nose of briar, ink, crushed blackcurrants and black plums, lightly-veneered in cedary oak. It's medium-bodied with a superfine mouth-feel and great intensity of dark fruit flavours, perhaps with a hint of anise. Lip-smacking balance and easy drying tannins carry an ultra-long finish. Superb (96) RALPH KYTE-POWELL

This blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, petit verdot and malbec is in striking form in vintage 2018. Blackberries, cherries, blueberries and redder-toned fruit are set amid light, earthy notes, fresh leaves and woody spices. The elegant palate has medium body and is lead with fine, even tannins that carry bright red and blueberry flavors in a long, precise and detailed mode. Outstanding. (96) JAMES SUCKLING

Beautiful perfume of dried flowers, sweet tobacco and spice, blackcurrant and redcurrant, even almond meal. Dense and dark, with a smattering of dried herb, ripe cherry, crisp acidity, firm grainy tannin, and a distinctly 'mineral' and savoury finish of exemplary length. It's a textbook example of superb Yarra Valley Cabernet. (96) GARY WALSH
