Fruit comes from 17-50 year old vines in the lieu-dits of Les Vaux, Sous la Velle and et Montaine in Meursault.
An alluring mix of spiced red and black berries is dotted with fennel and fresh earth on the nose. The palate is a vibrant mass of berries, it’s quite refined and articulate, held together by a backbone of feathery tannins. An earthy ferrous element simmers in the background, tempering the cherry flavours. It’s immediacy and charm is hard to resist. GABRIELLE POY

Succulent, well rounded, plump through the middle, a slight dusting of wood spice, dark cherry, plum, nice minerality that carries across the length. It’s plenty lively but also there is more than enough fruit here, 23 was excellent for Bourgogne and Village wines as there is plenty of flavour and weight to burn, this shows all the elements of the vintage that make so appealing at the regional level. The tannins are barely visible amongst the fruit, but they are there if you look for them. Should continue to settle into itself over a few years. Bloody lovely wine and exactly what I want from Bourgogne rouge. This is outlandish value! ROSCOE

The 2023 Bourgogne Côte d'Or comes from vines in Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet and undergoes an 18-month élevage with 20% new oak, like the other whites. It has a potent nose with citrus peel and orange pith aromas. The palate is well balanced with a spicy, nutmeg-tinged entry. Good depth and a persistent finish make this a classy Bourgogne Côte d'Or. This comes mostly from Puligny and a bit below Chassagne. Pale colour, almost nutty on the nose. More classic on the palate with flesh and excellent tension. This is a wine with a lot more to offer when it grows up JASPER MORRIS MW
