Ravensworth Estate Sangiovese 2023It's back. Our premium home grown Sangiovese. We've been making this since 2005 and it's definitely our top selling wine each year.
2023 has given the wine an elegant frame with black cherry, spice and other red fruits - blood plum, cranberries - floral with some dry herbs/tea
Always a lovely acidity and those very fine, persistent tannins.Looks great now but as always, if you can hold onto it for 5+ years you'll be rewarded with more savour and intensity. RAVENSWORTH

Querciabella Chianti Classico 2022Stylish and seductive, Querciabella’s 2022 leads with rooibos, mace and mocha atop dark red cherry. The palate is polished with sophisticated sweet oak spice tucked into the ripe and generous fruit core. Suede-like tannins expand, weaving smoothly throughout, while Sangiovese's brilliant acidity makes this sparkle. Splendid completeness and energy. Long-time winemaker Manfred Ing remains at the helm of production. DECANTER
Pouring a youthful jeweled ruby color, the 2022 Chianti Classico is entirely Sangiovese from Greve, Lamole, and Radda. (The producers have stopped using fruit from Gaiole in the blend, as they are concentrated on vines closer to home, including the higher elevation site in Lamole for freshness.) The nose is very pretty and fruity, with aromas of mixed berries, crushed flowers, and sweet earth. Medium to full-bodied, it’s elegant on the palate, with a fresh feel, fine tannins, and a refined texture. It is elegant all the way through and is going to offer a lot of pleasure over the next 10-12 years. JEB DUNNUCK
Deep ruby with orange tinges. Rich layered nose of cinnamon, marasca cherry and savoury spice notes. The fruit has a brooding intensity. Intense yet sleek with the perfect balance between cherry fruit and finely ground, chewy tannins. Will age well, no doubt. WALTER SPELLER, Jancis Robinson
This mid-weight, vibrant Chianti Classico has so much to offer.
The 2022 Chianti Classico is a polished, sophisticated wine. Dark red cherry, plum, blood orange, spice, cedar and new leather are front and center. Medium in body and layered, with terrific depth, the 2022 is a delight. ANTONIO GALLONI2022sangioveseItaly495$65.00 As low as $58.50 -
Minim Colbinabbin Sangiovese 2024This vineyard was planted in deep red Cambrian clay loam by the Chalmers family in 2011 on the lower eastern slopes of the Camel Ranges, within the Heathcote GI, close to the township of Colbinabbin. Sourced from a newer planting of old Chianti clone Sangiovese (Matt 6 and 7) at Chalmers which we are lucky to have exclusive access too and work with for the first time in 2023. Destemmed berries fermented in two large open pots with daily plunges and a more extractive approach to maceration over 3 weeks then moved to large format oak (3000 L), with the pressings moved to seasoned barriques.
Aromatically this wine is all red fruit and soft spice; cherry, raspberry, cinnamon and star anise. The palate is dry with ripe fragrant fruit of cranberry, raspberry, cherry and plum. There is a lovely spice from the old oak and a long finish. The drying Sangiovese tannins support the fruit, giving the wine great structure. Such a satisfying wine…a little deeper this year, but still fresh and fruitful. Classic Chianti (via Heathcote). - Minim Wine

Minim Hitch Young Sangiovese 2025Hitch has changed form over the years, but the goal has remained unchanged; a light chillable red packing loads of bright red fruit, acid, with subtle tannin .
Grown by Chalmers in Northern Heathcote, Hitch celebrates Sangiovese in its youth, picked a few weeks short of the single vineyard expression and handled gently to keep the tannins in check and hold tight to acid and fresh young fruit. Over winter, Hitch rested in barrel to soften tannins and was racked to tank, by gravity, in Spring. This wine is vivid, fresh and aromatic, with raspberries, cranberries and red jelly frogs and velvety tannins from front to back, the IDEAL chill able red and perfect for outdoor drinking. I adore sangiovese in its youth….such delicious fruit, and whilst this isn’t a super reinforced dense expression, the form is linear and complete and holds the fruit very gracefully. - Minim Wine
