  1. Ravensworth Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2023
    Ravensworth Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2023
Fruit comes off the Johansen vineyard and there’s certainly something about that site, as it has a distinct character year in, year out. It’s a lovely yet frisky drink featuring barely ripe white nectarine, lemon and pith, a little zest, too, and a smidge of ginger spice. Creamed honey/nougat and nutty lees fills the palate somewhat as lively acidity is in charge. JANE FAULKNER, Halliday Wine Companion

  2. Ravensworth Estate Sangiovese 2023
    Ravensworth Estate Sangiovese 2023

It's back. Our premium home grown Sangiovese. We've been making this since 2005 and it's definitely our top selling wine each year.

2023 has given the wine an elegant frame with black cherry, spice and other red fruits - blood plum, cranberries - floral with some dry herbs/tea
Always a lovely acidity and those very fine, persistent tannins.

Looks great now but as always, if you can hold onto it for 5+ years you'll be rewarded with more savour and intensity. RAVENSWORTH

  3. Ravensworth Estate Syrah 2023
    Ravensworth Estate Syrah 2023

Shiraz was a clear month later than the current year”, a summation of a vexatious growing season that was late to start, wet, very wet, “perhaps the wettest we’ve had”. The home vineyard is maintained with light machinery and by hand so disease was dealt with, or, as Bryan Martin reports, “…didn’t deal with any disease”. Phew. The Syrah is a single clone. It spent eight weeks on skins and was matured for two years in barrel.

It has the wash and slosh of the season but there’s plenty of attractive, dark fruit, woody spice, sweet earth, truffle and peppery elements here. There’s dashes of mint and eucalyptus too, a touch of tomato leaf, wet herbs. It’s pleasing in its way, a shimmy of light tannins help things along. All up, of the season, a softness and ease of drinking. MIKE BENNIE, The Wine Front

  4. Ravensworth Estate Riesling 2023
    Ravensworth Estate Riesling 2023

The fruit is, of course, wild fermented, as is the way of Ravensworth, and then sent to ceramic eggs and foudre for maturation. The 2023 vintage of course misses some stuffing in some wines, but the aromatics and freshness is all here.

A pleasing, light golden colour, but noted. Scents and flavours of watery margarita, salt rim included, a big squeeze of lime on top of that, green apple, some waxy texture and flavours, lemon myrtle, that zing of citrusy sorrel with its leafiness (I just harvested some from my garden for lunch, and here it is!). There’s a good sense of friskiness despite the wash of texture, the finish broad but crackling with saline minerality. It’s nice, just not quite where the wine often gets to, but there’s a good drink here. (93) MIKE BENNIE, The Wine Front
