  1. Picq Chablis Vieilles Vignes 2023
    Picq Chablis Vieilles Vignes 2023

WORTH A SPECIAL SEARCH - 'About 74 years old vines.' Wider, slightly more vibrant and flinty. Hmm, here is a super width of mobile, changing, flavour - layered, ultra delicious and, today, much more open than the last wine - great as the Vauécorce was for the vintage this has another level - yes! BILL NANSON, Burgundy Report

The 2023 Chablis Vieilles Vignes has a tightly-wound bouquet, more white peach here, fresh pear and light flinty scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasant fatness on the entry. Quite a weighty Vieilles Vignes this year NEAL MARTIN

A ripe yet airy nose combines aromas of green fruit and lemon-lime with those of iodine, crushed anise and shellfish. The old vines are in evidence as there is very good volume to the caressing medium-bodied flavors that exude a bracing salinity on the attractively dry, long and balanced finale BURGHOUND

  2. Picq Chablis Vauclaire 2023
    Picq Chablis Vauclaire 2023

WORTH A SPECIAL SEARCH - A more airy citrus, yellow citrus - a little floral. Ooh - that's the most mineral wine - of ultra-clarity. A finish that just keeps expanding. The Vaucoupin is more delicious today but this is the greater Chablis - be patient !! BILL NANSON, Burgundy Report

An appealingly layered nose reflects notes of mostly white orchard fruit, citrus confit, tidal pool and shellfish. The rich, concentrated and punchy flavors flash plenty of minerality that adds a sense of lift to the balanced and caressing finish. BURGHOUND

  3. Picq Chablis Premier Cru Vosgros 2023
Picq Chablis Premier Cru Vosgros 2023

WORTH A SPECIAL SEARCH - Ooh - that's really deep but still ultra elegant - a noble reduction - what an invitation !! A little more scale and energy - more generosity too vs the last - but gorgeously mouth-watering and delicious in the mineral-laden finish. So long… Potentially a great wine… BILL NANSON, Burgundy Report

SWEET SPOT, OUTSTANDING! - An expressive and airy nose reflects an abundance of Chablis typicity that include just sliced lemon, iodine, shellfish and quinine. The rich and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors possess fine mid-palate density and a lovely texture while delivering excellent persistence on the balanced and refreshingly dry finish. The Vaucoupin is good but the Vosgros offers another dimension. BURGHOUND

The 2023 Chablis Vosgros 1er Cru shows a small reduction when taken directly from vat. It eventually offers shucked oyster shell on the nose, quite strict and focused. The palate is very smooth, a little creamier in texture compared to the Vaucoupin. Touches of lemongrass and Vervane flowers lend intrigue on the finish. Real panache here and it may have its nose in front come bottling. NEAL MARTIN

  4. Picq Chablis Premier Cru Vaucoupin 2023
Picq Chablis Premier Cru Vaucoupin 2023

More chalky. A mineral, almost incisive, nose - ultra-detail. Larger in the mouth but open, not monolithic despite obvious concentration. Wide and really deliciously finishing - ooh that's showing excellently today… BILL NANSON, Burgundy Report

A more floral and citrus-infused nose speaks of mineral reduction, brine and algae hints. The super-sleek, intense and refined middle weight flavors danse across the palate and particularly so on the dry, chiseled and sneaky long finish BURGHOUND

The 2023 Chablis Vaucoupin 1er Cru has a crisp bouquet of lime and Anjou pear, and a light grass clipping scent. Energetic and focused. The palate is fresh and vibrant with wonderful weight and density. A crisp line of acidity emerge toward a harmonious and quite persistent finish. Bitter lemon leaves the tongue tingling on the aftertaste. Very classy. NEAL MARTIN
