  1. Benanti Etna Rosso 2022
    Benanti Etna Rosso 2022
The 2022 Etna Rosso wafts up with a perfumed blend of rosy florals and hints of juniper berry. This is vividly fruit-focused, with a wave of ripe wild berries and sweet spices that flow across a stream of brisk acidity. It leaves a staining of primary concentration and mildly grippy tannins to resonate as violet inner florals slowly fade. While more extroverted than expected, the 2022 is a total pleasure to taste and maintains fantastic balance. ERIC GUIDO, Vinous

An iconic winery from Etna and one of the few with vineyards on all four slopes, Benanti has played a major role in the region’s rise. Considered a seminal, high-quality producer, they helped put Etna firmly on the global wine map. Their wines combine volcanic energy with elegance and structure.

Opening to a luminous ruby appearance, the Graci 2022 Etna Rosso delivers aromas of redcurrant and dried raspberry from a warm vintage. Those ripe primary tones are followed by well-dosed hints of clove and spice. The bouquet opens quickly to a second wave of mineral, ash, licorice and crushed flowers. 4. Pietradolce Etna Bianco 2024
    Pietradolce Etna Bianco 2024

Sweet white flowers, chamomile and spice give way to crushed apples as the 2024 Etna Bianco Pietradolce wafts up from the glass. Pleasantly ripe in style, it splashes across the palate with crisp orchard fruits and minty herbal tones. This finishes with a sense of refinement as a tactile mineral tinge lingers. ERIC GUIDO

Coming from the northern slopes of Etna outside the vineyard, the 2024 Etna Bianco is raised without oak and is a pure expression. Pouring a medium yellow color, it reveals citrus oils and fresh sage, rosemary, and notes of white pineapple. Medium-bodied, it's pure and inviting, with a delicate salinity and a soft, stony texture. AUDREY FRICKE

Beautiful white from Carricante that captures the energy of Etna and reflects its essence. Sparkling lemon yellow with a drop of gold. Yellow stone fruit, mint, flowers and spice aromas on the nose. Complex flavour, full fruit and subtle minerality on the palate. Racy, delicately flavoured and sophisticated. SUPERIORE

  8. Girolamo Russo Nerina Etna Bianco 2024
Girolamo Russo Nerina Etna Bianco 2024

The 2024 Etna Bianco Nerina is thoroughly flavoursome with lemon zest complemented by rosemary and ginger. It is reassuringly round and smooth with sweet green melon and herbal tones carried by a fresh acidity. The palate is completely refreshed, finishing clean and crisp, while the pretty inner flowers fade slowly on the finish. ERIC GUIDO

An intense, lively and aromatic wine full of broom flowers, showing grapefruit, straw and apples. It has a fruit sweetness, crisp acidity and a light to medium body. The lush palate has good length and a toasty finish. JAMES SUCKLING

Giuseppe Russo's Nerina in 2024 harnesses the vintage to put its aromatics front and centre (helped along by the inclusion of Inzolia). White peach, apple, jasmine, white grapefruit and a touch of dried mango are tied together by wisps of volcanic smoke and rocky salinity. What more do you want?! JAMES BUTTON, decanter.com
