Mount Pleasant Supper With Winemaker Adrian Sparks

The history of Mount Pleasant goes hand in hand with the history of Modern Australian winemaking. Established by Maurice O'shea in 1921 and over a century since it continues to be an Icon of the Australian wine scene setting the pace producing some of the country's most endearing and legendary wines. It was instrumental in putting Australian wine on the vinous map internationally and in mentoring some of the country's greatest wine talents.

Over the years Mount Pleasant has continued to add a roster of award-winning wines to their stable based around several celebrated vineyard sites including Lovedale, Old Hill, Rosehill and Old Paddock among others as well as custodians of the oldest pinot noir vineyard in the country.

Since 2019 Adrian Sparks has headed up the winemaking team and continues a legacy of quality and excellence and is only the fifth chief winemaker at Mt Pleasant in its illustrious history. He follows in the footsteps of a celebrated winemaking alumni and was recently awarded the Hunter Valley Winemaker of the Year at the Hunter Valley Wine Industry Awards.

Today he continues to be a driving force in representing not only the wines of Mt Pleasant but the Hunter Valley region as whole.
