Le Chiuse Brunello 2021

The stunning Le Chiuse 2021 Brunello shows great intensity and structure as well as the elegant restraint the estate is known for. It opens with aromas of ripe plum, wild berry, forest floor, dark spice and blue flower as well as a camphor note. Vibrant, full-bodied and delicious, the palate delivers ripe Marasca cherry, crushed black raspberry, licorice and fine tobacco blend lifted by fresh acidity. Mid to deep ruby. Dramatic deep, serious nose with hints of cracked pepper and mace. Cherry, damson and plum. Real complexity that reveals itself with aeration, but still a little subdued overall. Suave, succulent, deep fruit supported by beautiful, gravelly tannins. Fantastic balance but still very much curled up. Tasted as a preview and set to be bottled very soon, the 2024 Rosso Di Montalcino pours a bright ruby hue and is fruity and primary on the nose, with fresh red berries, cherries, and lovely purity of fruit. Selected from larger clusters from the sunset side of the vines, it naturally carries a gentler tannin density, and the palate is juicy and bright, with refreshing acidity, tangerine-tinged lift, and a mouthwatering finish. Deep ruby. Expansive, deep, complex nose. Cigar leaves, hints of morocco leather, white pepper and a suggestion of rosemary over damson and raspberry fruit.
