  1. Gentle Folk Little Creek Pinot Noir 2024
Gentle Folk Little Creek Pinot Noir 2024

Dark-fruited and spicy, with great intensity and perfume. The palate is plush and fruit-driven, with a minerally mouthfeel and fine tannins. A lovely wine with real purity and power. JAMES SUCKLING

Dark cherry, plum, poached strawberry, quite a bit of spice and Sarawak black pepper perfume, with a Braulio-like amaro edge, orange zest and school fete toffee sweetness. It's medium-bodied, a plum and cherry richness, a graphite-like grip to tannin, quite dark and nutty, but entirely wholesome in its delivery of savoury, yet fruit sweet Pinot Noir, Quite a wine. Very good. GARY WALSH

Gentle Folk Scary Gully Pinot Noir 2024
It's the fine-grained tannin that really gets you over the line. It's attached to complex fruit, and undergrowth, and saltbush, and assorted herb and umami notes, but it's the finesse of that tannin and the way the fruit keeps on flowing through it that makes you stop to admire. there's also a layer of smoky, cedarwood oak evident in this wine but, given an extra year or two, this too will sink in and down, and this wine will then feel complete. 3. Gentle Folk Basket Range Chardonnay 2024
Gentle Folk Basket Range Chardonnay 2024

GOLD - Welcome to the premiere! This is the debut release of this wine for the Gentle Folk portfolio from the Somerset vineyard (arguably the most picturesque site in the region), deep in the Basket Range. This is such glorious chardonnay. There's an emphasis on stone fruit, peaches and loquats, with salted lime, crystalline acidity and toasted nuts, impactful drive and compelling mouthfeel. A producer not to be underestimated or overlooked. JAMES HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION

It tastes of popcorn, white peach, custard powder and citrus, among other things, but it's the satiny softness of it, and the exquisite cohesion, and the purity of the finish that really defines its quality. Toasty, creamy oak plays a role but the fruit, the polish and the finish of this wine are all of the highest class.  CAMPBELL MATTINSON

Minerally and tightly wound, with aromas of grilled lemons, salted nuts, white orchard fruit and slate. The palate is mid-weighted and textural, with refined, focused acidity supported by a solid core of fruit. Poised and elegant, with a slight phenolic edge. JAMES SUCKLING
