Burklin Masterclass Melbourne
In this discipline , this estate has essentially no rival in
all of Germany. In fact, given their sheer vineyard potential-they're capable of
producing seven grand crus and an equal number of premier crus in any given
vintage-this may well be the best and most consistent producer of great dry
Riesling in the world. JOEL B PAYNE, Vinous Media
Based
in the quality core of the world-renowned Pfalz this family estate has been
making wine from the golden hills around Wachenheim, Forst and Ruppertsberg
since 1597. These revered dry and powerful wines once garnered prices that
exceeded Bordeaux's first growths and many Grand Cru
Burgundies.
There is no Riesling of similar weight and complexity
with comparable elegance and finesse. STEPHAN REINHARDT, The Finest Wines of
Germany.
Today meticulous work in the vineyards and in the winery
produces some of the world's greatest dry Rieslings. The family accesses some of
the finest sites in all of Germany with an impressive cache of G.C. (Grand Cru)
and P.C. (Premiere Cru) vineyards at their dispose. An envious situation that
very few estates are lucky enough to enjoy.
Today Nicola Libelli heads up
the winemaking team. In 2012 the then intern and recent Geisenheim wine school
graduate, was thrust into the chief winemaking role his talent, vision and
dedication since propelling the already revered estate even further into the
upper echelons of the German wine scene. His use of large barrels, extended lees
work and wild yeast have brought new depth and complexity to the wines and have
elevated the family estate to the pre-eminent producer of dry
riesling.
From the incredible estate bottling through to the best G.C
sites a tasting with the wines of Burklin Wolf is nothing short of impressive.
The quality starts from a very high base and gets exceedingly impressive
exceptionally quick. We hope you enjoy.
