Perrot Minot Chambertin VV 2022

The 2022 Chambertin Grand Cru has a strong marine element on the nose: sea spray and oyster shell commingle with predominantly red fruit. There is tangible mineralité here, though maybe not as nuanced as the Mazoyères at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins. There's lovely salinity here; the finish is almost pixelated and extremely long. A precision-tooled Chambertin that will give 20 to 30 years of drinking pleasure. (98) NEAL MARTIN
FIVE STARS - Another concentrated dark purple. Waiting for the nose. Everything about this wine is very backward. The dark fruit which appears up front feels like the tip of the iceberg. There is more in the way of pepper than in the preceding grands crus. Waves of dark berry fruit now surf the palate, still with the white pepper riding along with them. A fine acidity behind. Christophe will bottle the Chambertin later than the others as this clearly needs more elevage. (99) JASPER MORRIS MW
DON'T MISS - There is again superb volume and almost painful intensity to the succulent but quite powerful broad-shouldered flavors that brim with both minerality and sappy dry extract while delivering superb length on the compact, serious, austere and built-to-age finale. This is one of the stars of the 2022 vintage and highly recommended. BURGHOUND
