The 2023 Pinot Noir West Sonoma Coast has alluring aromas of cranberry, rooibos tea, mossy bark, mushrooms and bitters. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated, crunchy fruit and well-integrated new oak spice. It’s structured by grainy tannins and juicy acidity and has a long, flavorful finish. 1,700 cases were made. (92) ERIN BROOKS, The Wine Advocate

The 2023 Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast) is brilliant. Bold, racy and punchy, with terrific energy, the 2023 is a delight. Red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal, mint and orange peel are all front and center. Clean mineral notes frame the long, nuanced finish. Most of this fruit is from the Peay estate. This mid-weight Pinot has a lot to offer. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous

The wines, and the people, of Peay epitomise the small production, artisanal, farm first winemaking that makes this part of Northern California so exciting. That has established Sonoma as one of the greatest areas for Pinot and Chardonnay on the globe.

Stuck out in the middle of the nowhere in Sonoma. I mean truly remote, surrounded by old growth forests, ages from anywhere but only a handful of miles from the Pacific Coast, as the crow flies, the place is like something out of a story. No phone coverage out in these parts, so no google maps. Directions are hand written and include such directions gems as "if you see the post pox with the orange stripes, you have gone too far, turn around and drive back 1.3 miles". Like going back in time and trying to find your way around.
