The 2016 Pinot Noir Mays Canyon is fabulous, just as it was from barrel. The Mays Canyon is a wine built more on persistence and energy rather than volume or overt fruit. For that reason, it is likely to appeal most to readers who enjoy structured wines. Crushed rocks, graphite, dark cherry, mint and chalk all add nuance to this nervous, finely sculpted Pinot.
