A well balanced and solid drinking Rye out of Louisville, Kentucky. Each bottling comes from a single barrel and with the limited production these can be sometimes difficult to get. With not quite the demand in Australia that you see in the USA we are lucky enough to keep these on the shelf for the most part. Michters unusually, fill barrels at a much lower proof then most other bourbons and whiskeys and uses a fairly unique heat cycling warehousing system for their barrels which add more richness, complexity and flavour. A spicy and peppery nose, with hints of mint and fresh cut hay. The medium to rich palate is long, lightly sweet and carries its lovely charry/spicy oak barrel flavours beautifully. PWS

Using Rye that is locally and sustainably sourced in the Midwestern US, allow us to present a fresh and light whiskey that offers mellow and somewhat sweet notes of maple and candy corn, with a classically spicy finish. Works beautifully in classic cocktails such as a Manhattan, Sazerac, or Scofflaw, where its grain-forward spiciness balances out the sweetness of other ingredients.

Kings County Distillery’s Straight Bourbon is made from New York State 80% organic corn and 20% English malted barley, is twice distilled in copper pot stills and then aged in new charred oak barrels. Rich in caramel, vanilla, and holiday spice, this bottle is cited frequently in lists of best non-Kentucky bourbons. Aged for at least two years, this is a precocious whiskey, surprisingly robust for its age.

Plenty of color, and the nose says it ain’t lying. Sharp warehouse oak aroma puts an edge on an authoritative nose of honey, Indian pudding, spicy hard candy, and old-fashioned root beer, the not-too-sugary kind. Fiery and bold on the tongue as oak roars from start to finish, but the sweetness builds sip-by-sip: cornbread, buckwheat honey, King syrup, and a teasy bit of citrus peel. With a mash bill of 51% corn and 49% millet, KOVAL Bourbon offers a drinking experience that is balanced, approachable, and unparalleled. The unusual grain combination provides notes of mango chutney and vanilla on the palate, with a peppery caramel finish.

40% ABV. Kings County Distillery's Moonshine (un-aged whiskey) is distilled from 80% New York State organic corn and 20% malted barley, sourced from the UK. The latter represents one of the highest proportions of malted barley on a US whiskey's mash bill. It is double distilled in gooseneck copper pot stills to yield a lower distillation proof, rich in flavor and mouthfeel. The Kings County distillers use very narrow cuts, essentially the heart of the hearts, to draw off a very clean, pure distillate. Nothing at all is added.

Rittenhouse Rye 100 - Aged 4 years

Now widely accepted as a bench mark American Rye and outstanding its it class. Rittenhouse is much acclaimed and is enjoying a much deserved comeback throughout the USA with plenty of awards and accolades to its name. A beautiful nose, choc-full with baking spices and crushed red pepper. A touch hot but not the least bit unexpected for this 100 proof bottling. The higher alcohol  makes it the perfect candidate shaken into cocktails or poured over ice just to help break down the heat a little. More to the richer and robust side of US Rye the palate has lashings of clovey/vanilla-bean anglaise, gingerbread, citrus peel, cocoa and spicy, woody notes and an almost creamy, rich palate. Basically just just damn good tasty Rye.

Gold Medal - 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition 45% ABV.

Kings County Bourbon is the same spirit as Kings County's moonshine, here aged for an average of two years in new, American oak charred barrels. The nose offers spicy, cedar, fresh oak and roasted malt notes. Very fine but also complex, there is also the suggestion of pecan, fresh corn and bright cherry. The palate is really spicy and fine; there's real depth of malt and fruit cake notes shot through with higher notes of citrus, fresh vanilla as well as cinnamon and other autumnal spices. The texture is very smooth, a spirit of the quality we normally associate with top notch Cognac, and the finish is spicy, lingering and perfumed. Wonderful stuff that is easily good enough to sip from the flask. Exotic and deep, with flavors of grain, licorice, vanilla and molasses. ERIC ASIMOV, New York Times
