  1. Nocturne SR Rose 2022
    Nocturne SR Rose 2022
This has the Julian Langworthy trademark rose-gold blush and texture. The 88% sangiovese is destemmed and left on lees for three months; the 8% tempranillo is whole-bunch pressed to old oak. The remaining 4% is grenache. This comes together beautifully. Fragrant with florals, red licorice, freshly grated ginger and a tinge of red berries. The palate is perfectly modulated between the super-refreshing acidity and its creamy texture. JANE FAULKNER, Halliday Wine Companion

  2. Reed Powers Grenache Rose 2022
    Reed Powers Grenache Rose 2022
Bit expensive for a first release Australian Rose? Sure is. Here is why. The same fruit that goes in to her Reserve Grenache from that 150 year old plot is used here. That fruit aint cheap. On top of that she only realises about half the yield from the pressing regime. So, production costs here are expensive. Is it worth it? Yes! This was the wine that was the real catalyst for the offer. I will keep a lid on my usual excitable self but I don't want to undersell this either. This is a different beast than the overwhelming majority of rose made here in Oz.
Bone dry and with a sensational sense of zip and liveliness, plenty of pretty Grenache perfume and bright red fruits. A big punch of ruby red grapefruit kicks in as wine quickly expands and really delivers on the promise of punchy, ripe, rich fruit and a subtle creamy textural element. It's bold and solidly built with a real sense of presence. Very long and vivid with an incisive whack of energetic, snappy fruit on the finish. It Australian rose Jim, but not as we know it. If you buy good Bandol you should get on this train asap, it rolls all the way to flavour town. ROSCOE

This rosé was always dwelling in the back of my mind as something that would one day come through me and into the bottle. There were no shortcuts here, this wine was made with all the Gucci trimmings. Whole bunch pressed, 50% pressings yield, 150 year old bush vine Grenache barrel fermented in new Stockinger oak, it's rosé in full wine form. Textured, rich, floral, layered, powerful and long. When rosé is made with this much intention a delicious seriousness is captured in every drop.
Winemaking Rosé: Whole bunch pressed to new Stockinger oak for the early part of the fermentation and then went through malo and élevaged in old Chardonnay barrels, bâttonaged over 6 months at least once a week, sulphured to stop wine from going through full malo because I felt the wine was in a good spot with texture SIERRA

Schmolzer and Brown Pret a Rose 2022

Shiraz and pinot noir from Beechworth is the deal. Ready to roll rose.

It’s delicious! A gentle feast, but one with lots to put on the plate. Cherry, cranberry, rose hip tea, a strawberry sweetness in a dry, ostensibly savoury style. Length and beautiful, succulent texture, great sense of freshness and lift. Crafted, styled, preened and pretty, this is a moreish and wonderful thing to drink. MIKE BENNIE, The Wine Front

  4. Gueissard Le Petit G IGP Mediterranée Rosé 2021
Gueissard Le Petit G IGP Mediterranée Rosé 2021
The Little G that all the homies want to be.  Made with a lot of care considering its level – grapes are hand harvested and manually sorted for starters.  Provence style through and through, it’s of beautiful salmon shade, with a nose of zesty citrus, mandarin and satsuma, the palate fruit driven and crunchy, with some of Gueissard’s house style showing through – a teeny bit of guava skin, red currants, tangarine/mandarin juice, and a herbal undertow.  Summer in a bottle.

  5. Mazi Limited Release Rose 2022
    Mazi Limited Release Rose 2022
Mazi Wines is a collaboration between Alex Katsaros and Toby Porter - life long friends who have realised a dream to make wine together. Toby has been a winemaker at d’Arenberg in McLaren Vale for over14 years while Alex has been making wine and working on alternative variety projects both here and abroad for the last decade. All wines under the Mazi label are made dry in style and focus on food friendliness for you to enjoy the way we do – at the table with friends. The 2022 Limited Release rosé was made from handpicked Mourvedre and Grenache grapes grown in the heart of McLaren Vale.

The fruit was gently whole bunch pressed to delicately extract the spice driven, savoury juice synonymous with Mourvedre grown in the Vale. The very pale salmon hues are the result of the gentle extraction and minimal skin contact prior to fermentation.

  6. Le Cinciole Rosato 2022
    Le Cinciole Rosato 2022
Organic/biodynamic. Sangiovese grapes are specially harvested at the right degree of ripeness in order to obtain finesse and balance without excessive alcohol content. The de-stemmed grapes stay briefly in the press for a slight maceration. The must is then vinified “in white” at a controlled temperature. The richness of floral perfumes, delicate fruity hints as well as evident mineral notes, characterize the gustative freshness of our Rosato which, like all the other wines coming from our vineyards, shows elegance and persistence.

  7. Terre Nere Etna Rosato 2022
    Terre Nere Etna Rosato 2022
The 2022 Rosato Etna is understated and delicate, with dried strawberry and dusty florals forming its bouquet. This shows a pretty inner sweetness up front that gives way to crisp orchard fruits and spice. It finishes a bit dry, yet clean, with a saline-tinge that slowly tapers off. ERIC GUIDO, vinous.com

A pillowy core of rosehip, spiced cherries and spun sugar leads into a tangy line of acidity with a whisp of sea spray. Finely boned with excellent staying power, it's beautifully textured with a chalky presence. Pockets of detail emerge if you go looking, but the real beauty of this rosato is its poker face delivery which rolls out a thrilling mix of red fruits and minerals at just the right time, keeping you very keen and intent on your next sip. Danger danger, this has a high evaporation point. GABRIELLE POY

  8. Quin Wines Barossa Valley Rose 2022
Quin Wines Barossa Valley Rose 2022
Mataro sourced from Aldo's vineyard in the southern Barossa parish of Williamstown. Pale salmon in the glass with notes of redcurrant, raspberry, red cherry and citrus fruits along with hints of white flowers, marzipan, stone, raspberry cream and a whiff of freshly cut fennel. Super-sapid porcelain acidity drives this along nicely, and there's a wee slink of texture to boot, finishing dry, red-fruited and clanging for some food. DAVE BROOKES, James Halliday

Andrew Quin  and his wife Sky are a dynamic couple behind Quin Wines. Both born and raised in Melbourne they purchased a 7 hectare vineyard in Seppeltfield in the heart of the Barossa Valley with the goal of making exceptional wines. As head winemaker for both Hentley Farm and Ricca Terra, Andrew knows how to make wine, and works closely with the viticulturalists to ensure he always has the best fruit to work with.

  9. Sutton Grange Fairbank Rose 2022
    Sutton Grange Fairbank Rose 2022
Score awarded by the Halliday tasting panel at the annual Awards judging. Jeni Port writes: A blend of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and sangiovese. The pressure is on Chris Smales, the new winemaker at Sutton Grange, with his first vintage release, but he delivers in maintaining this popular rosé's class. Attractive tea rose hues. Gentle, lifted aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry and lively spice. Love the smoothness, the inviting spice, the bright red berries and clean acid crunch to taste. And so, so versatile at the table. (97) PANEL DECISION, Halliday Wine Companion

    Casa Lluch Rose 2022
Organic, biodynamic and vegan friendly, the Casa Lluch is from winemaker Bodegas Enguera in Valencia. Made from locally certified organically grown grapes the Bodega was founded in 1999 and fruit is sourced only from their own vineyards where they can maintain strict controls on the quality of fruit and it shows.

A ripping little Spanish rosado that will have you coming back for more. Strawberries and fresh picked raspberries with a little hint of peppery spice. Lovel lush fruit that flows a little too easy coating with crunchy red berries a plenty with a raspberry coulis finish. It's the simple things in life that are often the best and this rosado is one of those.

  11. Wooing Tree 'Blondie’ Rose 2022
    Wooing Tree 'Blondie’ Rose 2022
The 2022 Pinot Noir Blondie is a rare Blanc de Noir from New Zealand's Central Otago region. It's a crisp style; the creamy palate allies with fresh strawberry, white peach and pear flavors. Hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, the Pinot Noir fruit has infused a light peach color to the wine while the fruit has remained delicate with the merest of grip rather than any real tannic presence. It's a well-made, clean wine that will sell by the gallon. REBECCA GIBB, Vinous

  12. Eastern Peake Persuasion Rose 2022
    Eastern Peake Persuasion Rose 2022
This is from Owen Latta’s family label here with the Eastern Peake range with the fruit for this wine is grown by long term friends Frank & Kerry Walsh, directly over the road on the same soil type as Eastern Peake weathered basalt on grey loam. Frank first established with pinot noir in 1995 then a second 1 acre planting in 2003 with Syrah (Clone PT23).

The Syrah  was whole bunch pressed, fermented in large format Stockinger Austrian oak with indigenous yeasts, 11 months lees contact, racked, estate bottled. A small amount of sulphur post malo & pre bottling. No fining, filtering or Tinkering. Thoughtfully produced to reflect on where it was grown.

Grenache rosé, lightly crushed and destemmed, free-run juice drained to stainless steel with a few whole berries for colour, three months on lees. The prettiest of salmon pinks with aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, cranberry and watermelon. Hints of soft spice, peach skin, crushed stone and citrus blossom. Crisp, sapid and true with a plume of red fruits and spice and a wicked, minerally acid line. DAVE BROOKES, Halliday Wine Companion

Chateau Grand Boise Cote de Provence Sainte Victoire Rose 2022

Top drawer, delicate and ultra mineral, from some of Provence's highest vines.  Certified organic.

A little bit exotic with some ripe lime, guava, spice, and dried herb perfume. Fine dusty texture and gentle grip, pink grapefruit and tangy strawberry dusted with white pepper, a little stony too, with some citrus peel tang on a finish of fine length. Quite peppery, yet distinctive and fine.

    Domaine Gueissard Bandol Rose 2022

    60% Mourvédre, 30% Cinsault, 10% Grenache. Screwcap.

The most classically Bandol release we've seen from this young gun, new wave producer - for us, driving flintiness is what defines the rosés of this region and sees them regarded as pinnacle expressions, with that character here in spades.  The nose leaps out with cream, florals and cut passionfruit, the palate woven with quince, guava, red currants and again, passionfruit.  Length, complexity and presence here though super refreshing all the way through.

  16. Solis Cotes de Provence Rose 2022
Solis Cotes de Provence Rose 2022

Solis Rose. This is the summer wine we have been waiting for. This is one of the best value Provence rose we have seen in some time and that is saying something given how much good pink is in the market at the moment.

This is pretty classic stuff in all the best ways. A touch of fresh strawberry, snappy red currants, white pepper, a touch of fairy-floss lift and oh-so-inviting sweetly floral nose. It follows with that same wild strawberry and red berry fruit all fleshy and bright with a rim of citrus peel and quartzy-like minerality edging. It punches way above its weight here and while it will go down a treat on a warms summers day its equally at home paired with any BBQ fair you might want to throw at it.
