  1. Rebholz Riesling vom Buntsandstein 2021 (sandstone)
Rebholz Riesling vom Buntsandstein 2021 (sandstone)

The 2021 Siebeldingen Vom Buntsandstein Riesling trocken offers a very clear, pure, bright and fresh bouquet with stony and herbal/grassy notes; it's beautifully coolish and highly elegant. Round and elegant on the palate, this is a light to medium-bodied, dense, intense and fruity as well as saline-finishing Riesling from the sandstone terroir of the Ganz Horn. STEPHAN REINHARDT, Wine Advocate

Complex nose of white peach, white currant, herbs and a touch of flint. Sleek, but highly structured with a razor-sharp minerality and lots of energy. Very long, super-clean and bone-dry finish. Use as you would a high-end Chablis. STUART PIGOTT, jamessuckling.com

  2. Rebholz Riesling vom Rotliegenden 2021 (red slate)
Rebholz Riesling vom Rotliegenden 2021 (red slate)
The 2021 Birkweiler Vom Rotliegenden Riesling trocken offers a deep, intense and iron-scented bouquet of ripe and elegant fruit intermingled with purely mineral and herbal notes. In fact, this is a downgraded Kastanienbusch that didn't add a plus to the GG blend. Round and silky on the very elegant and balanced palate, this is a quiet-flowing Riesling with fine and ripe acidity and a long, intense and textured finish with very delicate salinity on the aftertaste. It's a fascinating dry Riesling from Siebeldingen. STEPHAN REINHARDT, Wine Advocate

An extremely elegant dry riesling that reminds me of the top wines from the great 1990 vintage! Very racy, very mineral and very precise. So much red and white berry fruit, Amalfi lemon acidity and an explosion of wet stone character at the super-straight finish. STUART PIGOTT, jamessuckling.com

  3. Rebholz Riesling Kastanienbusch 2021 GG (red slate)
Rebholz Riesling Kastanienbusch 2021 GG (red slate)
The 2021 Kastanienbusch Riesling GG shows pure, fresh and elegant, juicy, ripe and concentrated fruit with herbaceous spicy aromas. Dense, lush and savory on the palate, with fine mineral acidity and highly elegant, juicy-savory fruit, this is a very long, mineral and tensioned Kastanienbusch with great purity, salinity and highly finessed texture. The finish is fresh and lemony, pure and salty, stimulating and vital, demanding and powerful. It's a very expressive Kastanienbusch. STEPHAN REINHARDT, Wine Advocate

This smells like breaking open a beautifully ripe passion fruit! The palate of this great dry riesling has a very sleek silhouette, but an enormous amount of complex minerality (think every shade of rock from red to black) packed into it. Like a tight rosebud that needs time to unfurl its tightly folded beauty. STUART PIGOTT, jamessuckling.com

  4. Rebholz Riesling vom Schiefer 2021 (blue slate)
Rebholz Riesling vom Schiefer 2021 (blue slate)
The 2021 Burrweiler Vom Schiefer Riesling trocken offers a clear, pure and refined but intense, slate-driven nose with iodine notes. Round and fresh on the palate, this is a saline, mouth-filling and very elegant Riesling with juicy fruit, fine tannins, stimulating savory acidity and lingering salinity. STEPHAN REINHARDT, Wine Advocate

Effusive nose with a whole garden of fresh herbs, also some delicate stone fruits. Stunning minerality on the very focused and light-footed palate. The acidity at the properly dry finish may be a bit challenging for some, but we find no hint of unripeness there, rather we find it invigorating and excitingly stony. 5. Rebholz Riesling vom Muschelkalk 2021 (limestone)
Rebholz Riesling vom Muschelkalk 2021 (limestone)
The 2021 Siebeldingen Vom Muschelkalk Riesling trocken is pure, fresh and spicy on the intense and pretty complex nose. Lush and salty-savory on the palate, this is a dense, refreshing and mineral, even chalky Riesling from younger vines in the Grosse Lage Im Sonnenschein. The finish is enormously saline but also textured and provided with fine tannins. STEPHAN REINHARDT, Wine Advocate

A remarkably generous, dry riesling for this cool and high-acidity vintage. A whole basket of stone and citrus fruit plus yellow apple with a whiff of smoke. Creamy mid-palate, then a very chalky texture at the long finish. STUART PIGOTT, jamessuckling.com

  6. Burklin Wolf Dry Riesling Trocken 2022
Burklin Wolf Dry Riesling Trocken 2022
Sourced in Wachenheim and Ruppertsberg, the 2022 Riesling Trocken is intensely yellow in color and offers saline notes of yellow and green apples intertwined with finely stony aromas. Very elegant and with lush, refined fruit, this is a substantial dry Riesling with moderate body and a stringent and still young but promising finish with muscles. This should be cellared for another year, if possible, or open the bottle a day or two before you consume it to let it breathe. 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in November 2023 (AP 47 23). STEPHAN REINHARDT, The Wine Advocate

  7. Burklin Wolf Wachenheimer Riesling 2022
    Burklin Wolf Wachenheimer Riesling 2022
From downgraded premier crus and 80% vinified in large oak casks, the 2022 Wachenheim Riesling Trocken Village is clear and intense but also subtle on the distinctive nose and clearly characterized by the red sandstone soils. This Riesling trocken shows perfectly ripe, very noble and finely flinty fruit intermingled with laurel and celery aromas. Lush and refined on the palate, with lingering salinity and crystalline acidity, this is a very elegant, lush and balanced Wachenheimer with a fine and lively but rested character and a fine, saline finish. 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. STEPHAN REINHARDT, The Wine Advocate

The nose blends flinty, reductive verve with apple juiciness before verging into lemony verve. The palate has the same juiciness, with a slight inflection of yeast on the plate, partly pithy, partly zesty, but very fresh. There's tension and creaminess simultaneously, bone-dry and properly mouth-watering. Lovely echo. (Bone-dry) ANNE KREBIEHL MW, Vinous

Benefiting from de-classification of several of Burklin-Wolf's most prestigious G.C. + P.C. vineyards including young vines from GC Goldbachel, this is a classic Pfalz Riesling with depth of flavor, aromatic spice and a soft, voluptuous dry finish. This is always one of the best value rieslings in the range and given its provenence a pretty sure bet.
