Coursodon St Joseph Silice Blanc 2019
Translucent yellow. Vibrant, mineral-accented citrus and orchard fruit aromas are complemented by suggestions of fennel and jasmine. 2. Ogier Le Temps Est Venu Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2022
Ogier Le Temps Est Venu Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2022
Always a lovely wine and the 2022 has an extra level of freshness and crunchy snap. A blend of grenache blanc, roussanne and a good dollop of viognier. Stone fruits, some quartz mineral notes that thread through the mid palate and sprinkle white pepper to finish. Some slippery textural elements provide length and its cut nicely by a streak crunch acid.

  3. Cuilleron Le Lombard Marsanne 2020
    Cuilleron Le Lombard Marsanne 2020

100% Marsanne oldest vines 1967, most mid-late 1980s, from sanded granite soils
shiny yellow; the bouquet carries a grapey air, smokiness, white tobacco, lemon peel, has a little Riesling petrol tone within. The palate gives a fluid run of crushed white fruits, compote style, hints of vanilla, holding well into a stylish close. It's articulate St Jo blanc, on a trail of refinement, reserve. It deserves a fine table, carries interest, is worth studying. It can develop its second half a little more. 13.5° (4 stars) JOHN LIVINGSTONE LEARMONTH

  4. Vinden Pokolbin Blanc White Blend 2023
Vinden Pokolbin Blanc White Blend 2023

He is reimaging his farther estate with a string of exciting new releases and modern interpretation of the wines of the Hunter. This is Part of Gus new experimental range all from a single vineyard in Polkolbin.

A real treat with musky, rose petal and ginger flecked aromatics sprinkled with a little white pepper chalky goodness. Super inviting and open aromatics that entice but with a little intrigue and a certain je ne sais quoi that capture you even more. Its lovely and pure, crispy tree fruits, some quince, a little citrus thrown in. Its thirst quenching stuff that will appeal to many.

  5. Turkey Flat Marsanne Roussanne 2022
    Turkey Flat Marsanne Roussanne 2022

It’s grippy, it’s richly flavoured, and just when you think it’s going to stop – the flavours continue on. This saw a proportion of new oak and it shows, but the overall profile remains elegant and then there’s that length. Citrus, stonefruit, cracked wheat and smoky bacon characters do a delicious job here, so too the honeysuckle notes. Give it another 12 months in bottle and it will be better again. CAMPBELL MATTINSON, The Wine Front

It’s a funky, struck match affair, honey and smoky stuff, pear and lemon zest, a juicy apricot sort of flavour, plenty of grip and texture, wheaty (yes it is), with a chalky lemon zest finish of good length. Rugged. Full of personality. It’s excellent. GARY WALSH

SPECIAL VALUE - A Rhône-inspired white blend of marsanne and roussanne from the Turkey Flat vineyards in Bethany and Stone Well; whole-bunch pressed with some skin contact and a portion aged in new oak. Pale straw with some intriguing struck flint and cordite notes layered above the juicy white peach, lemon and apple fruit base. Hints of nougat, toasted almonds, crème fraîche, white flowers and ginger complete the picture. Dry with a lovely textural component, a minerally acid line and excellent clarity on the finish. Great complex, zesty drinking. JAMES HALLIDAY’S WINE COMPANION

With a light yellow hue, it has a very smoky bouquet combining barrel and reductive aromas with spices and a hint of smoked chicken, the palate multi-layered and entertaining, medium bodied and soft-but-dry in its balance. A lovely wine with a really engaging set of flavours, and a long and satisfying follow-through HUON HOOKE

The bold and the beautiful, plenty to love here with lots going on and it delivers on it all in this beautiful package with punchy fruit, great length, plenty of nuance and detail, a long, fruit laden and citrus cut finish that serves to engage those old taste buds and stir them to life. Stimulating! It’s one of those wines that leaves you feeling refreshed, it isn’t thirst slacking, or quenching, as bright, clear and upbeat as it is, because you immediately go back for a second glass and then the bottle is gone and it’s a work day tomorrow and you have to talk to people about wine… you know what I mean? Very hard to stop drinking, which makes it dangerous mid week. Fortunately Danger is my middle name, Roscoe Anthony Danger Halligan-Rose… not sure why my mum thought that was appropriate.

This is so damn good it’s hard to keep a straight face while writing this review. It’s not a wine to take too seriously, but its seriously banging. ROSCOE

  6. Coursodon St Joseph Blanc 'Le Paradis Saint Pierre' 2022
Coursodon St Joseph Blanc 'Le Paradis Saint Pierre' 2022
90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne from 50-80 year old vines from Paradis and Saint-Joseph granite sites raised in 10% new oak.
The 2022 Saint Joseph Le Paradis Saint Pierre Blanc is even better, and it's up with the finest Saint Joseph Blancs I've ever had. Quince, honeyed minerality, toasted spice, and green almond-like nuances all define the nose, and its more Hermitage Blanc than Saint Joseph Blanc with its medium to full-bodied richness, gorgeous overall balance, and incredible length. It has some background oak and will benefit from a year or two of bottle age, but I suspect it will have over a decade of prime drinking. Don't miss this beauty. (97) JEB DUNNUCK

  7. Yeringberg Marsanne Roussanne 2021
    Yeringberg Marsanne Roussanne 2021

62% Marsanne and 38% Roussanne. Vines planted 1973-85. The 2 varieties were picked & made separately, blended just before bottling.”

Apple, lime, apricot, ginger and honey, chamomile tea and cinnamon. It’s nutty and savoury, white fleshed fruit with a juicy peach and apricot richness, dusty and spicy, a fine chalkiness to it, a real white Rhône mouth-perfume about it, honey and almond, with a long rich and grainy finish. Terrific wine. GARY WALSH, The Wine Front

  8. Domaine La Florane Visan Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2022
Domaine La Florane Visan Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2022
Grenache Blanc with Marsanne, Roussanne, Burboulenc, Clairette and Viognier.  Wild fermented and raised in concrete vats, aged briefly on fine lees.

Aromatics and flavours of apricot, peach and honeysuckle, with grapefruit/citrus fruit, rind and pith.  There's a real zip to this release, great energy humming here.  The stony mineral and cleansing acidity give a pleasing textural edge and palate definition.  It's clichéd to be going 'best release yet', but this cuvée is on song here.
