A very pinpointed pinot with crushed stone, blueberry, raspberry and strawberry aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied and very reserved, with a linear intensity and great length. Tight focus at the end with dark berries and plums. Excellent potential (97) JAMES SUCKLINGSixty percent of the 2022 Pinot Noir Finn comes from the Bressay Vineyard with Calera selection and the rest from old vines on Occidental Road, with unknown plant material (planted with eight or so clones) that they pick all at one time, which adds a lot of complexity to this wine. It opens to complex and layered aromas of kirsch, fresh violets, sweet tobacco, and mossy earth, followed on the palate by a complete wine with velvety tannins and harmonious acidity, everything coming together seamlessly. A stunning wine, it's one of the best wines of the vintage. It's going to be hard to hold in the cellar, but it will be worth it (100) JEB DUNNUCK

There is very good color to the exuberantly floral-suffused nose, in particular violet, that is comprised mostly by notes of black cherry and earth that are trimmed in discreet wood influence. There is excellent density and vibrancy to the bigger bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the dusty and bitter chocolate-inflected finish. While Chaignots is in Nuits St Georges, it hugs the boundary of Vosne Romanee and so much of this wine presents the best of both those communes. Turned earth, background wood and red into blue fruits vie frame a lovely opening aromatic. The palate is rich and supple but there's also a lively vein running through it making stand up across the palate - suppleness and energy a great combination. Lingering fine, silty tannins draw a boundary around the red fruit and wood spice. It's full of life this wine. Great drinking but also there's loads of background structure tucked in behind the fruit to make it an excellent cellaring proposition. Vilmart Coeur de Cuvee 201580% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir from vines averaging 60 years old, the wine spends nearly 6 years on lees. Most importantly only the heart of the pressing is taken - 1400 litres instead of the usual 2100 litres, hence the name 'coeur de cuvee.'
The 2015 Brut Coeur de Cuvée is a pretty dense wine that belies its deceptively mid-weight structure. What surprises me most about the 2015 is how closed it is. In most years, especially warm years, Coeur de Cuvée is quite a bit more open and voluptuous, but the 2015 does not come across like that at all. Rather, it is super-classic in bearing, with tons of gravitas from the 60-year-old vines just waiting to emerge. There are none of the awkward herbal notes that penalize so many wines. Bright saline notes extend the finish effortlessly. The 2015 is a brilliant Coeur de Cuvée. ANTONIO GALLONI

Paul Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean Rouge 2022A more elegant, and more floral-suffused, nose reflects notes of red berry fruit compote that is certainly ripe but stops short of being jammy. There is a more refined texture to the middleweight flavors thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins shaping the balanced and lingering finale. The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques emerges from a tiny parcel planted in 1949. Dark and complex in its first impression, the 2022 possesses notable fruit purity and a good bit of supporting structure, despite its deceptively mid-weight feel. White pepper, orange peel and tea leaves build in the glass, leading effortlessly into the clean, mineral-laced finish. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous.comOUTSTANDING.
