The wild mint leaps from the glass at the outset, the Marjorie site was planted in 1982, on its own roots, replanted vine by vine starting in 2000. Aromatics of fresh spearmint, red bramble fruits and a tart spritz of blood orange complete the aromatic appeal. The tannins are substantial here and frame the wine's elegance with a structure that will enable some great ageing. It's a tough site to farm because of the spacing and the low pH. Tart red berries and a melange of dried scrub flavours meld into notes of blackberry and mint and a touch of white pepper to finish. (96) CLIVE PURSEHOUSE, Decanter

The 2022 Pinot Noir Marjorie Vineyard comes from the only pre-existing vines the family acquired when they purchased the winery in 1992. A deeper magenta color, it's perfumed with seductive notes of violets, black raspberries, sweet herbs, and forest earth. The palate offers plenty of purity, and it has a fantastic, savory finish, with ripe tannins and even acidity. It's drinking well now, with a wide window for enjoying over the coming 15 or so years. The palate is a marriage of ripeness with the savoury character and superb tannins that the vintage has given winemaker Daniel Estrin to work with. A ripe ruby red color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard displays a more savory profile. Coming from the winery's steepest vineyard site with a 33% grade, it has an elegant floral perfume of ripe berries, and the texture is supple, with ripe tannins and an approachable feel. It's well-detailed, with a cushion of approachability, but it's fully dry and has a savory undertone. Drink 2025-2040. (96) JEB DUNNUCK

Eileen is at the top of the hill, staring out towards the Coast Range. This wine is a picture of elegance, and the turbulence from the Van Duzer Corridor moves through the clusters and vines. It's satiny, with spiced aromatics, wild herbs and bright tart cranberries. The site's higher acids lift the silky mouthfeel, it comes together beautifully. Blue fruits, wild spearmint and Chinese five spice frame an elegance of red berries and pine bough freshness. The finish shows a sweetness of berries and a note of green peppercorn. A deeper and layered profile emerges in the 2022 Pinot Noir Eileen Vineyard, which comes from windswept site where the grapes get thick skins from the wind. It has a more woodsy profile, with savory saline, brothy feel, tea leaf, toasted spice, and black cherries. Drink it over the coming 15-20 years. (97) JEB DUNNUCK

Most diverse soils on the property the Louise is the only site without 100% volcanic soils. The warmest site on the property, protected from the Van Duzer winds from a horseshoe of forest is about radiance of warmth for winemaker Estrin. This site can get big fast, so he picks them a bit earlier than the others and has to pay attention to the extraction, exotic spice aromatics, Chinese five spice and Oolong tea. This is a bit more broad-shouldered and the tannins intimate that this will go the distance. The palate leans into savoury spice, with black tea, wild anise blackberries and mint. From a vineyard the Gerrie family planted in 1993 that sits around the winery, the 2022 Pinot Noir Louise Vineyard reveals a beautiful woodsy profile, with notes of mossy earth and higher-toned red fruit shining through, with cranberries, darker red fruits, and Asian spices. It has a chiseled structure, with fine compact tannins, a refreshing lift, and notes of tea leaf on its long finish. It's going to age with grace over the coming 20 years. (96) JEB DUNNUCK

In the windy part of the Eola-Amity Hills, this vineyard sits between 200-275m and is made with about 50% whole cluster, a favourite technique of winemaker Daniel Estrin. Dusty aromatics open the wine with gravelly minerality, wild red bramble fruits and a note of salty sea air. On the palate, that mineral tone continues. Red and black berry fruits compete with a distinct tone of salted blood orange pulp. Wild anise and dill bring a savoury finish to this elegant showing. (96) CLIVE PURSEHOUSE, Decanter

The 2022 Pinot Noir Paul Gerrie Vineyard offers more lifted, savory, and deep aromatics, with an almost Nebbiolo-like structure, with an angular feel to its notes of black raspberries, wild earth, and alpine forest herbs. It has angular bright acidity, as well as lots of tension and linear drive, a stony, salty, mouthwatering feel, coiled tannins, and a clean, savory finish. It needs time to unwind. Drink 2026-2046. The 2022 Pinot Noir Memorious has a bit of everything a Pinot Noir lover could want: poise, focus, vibrancy and subtle structural power. The nose straddles red and black berries with a flashy but measured intensity, leading to a lacy palate that combines electric energy with seductive, subtle richness. The 2022 Pinot Noir Memorious is deep, fleshy and super-expressive, as it always is. Dark red cherry/plum fruit, spice, new leather and dried herbs are all beautifully laced together. Pliant and open, the 2022 has a ton to offer. Memorious offers a combination of the elements that make Domaine de la Côte a special site, namely a mix of energy from the vineyard's west-facing aspect and textural resonance from the presence clay in the soils. The palate takes a dramatically powerful, saturated turn into a slow-moving, opulent yet classy finish that ceaselessly builds tannic power without adding an ounce of weight. Serious and unyielding despite its deceptively delicate framing, this merits time in the cellar to unwind but should evolve wonderfully over the next decade. WINE ADVOCATE

The 2022 Pinot Noir Bloom's Field is bright, punchy and alluring. Red-toned fruit, chalk, mint, spice and dried flowers infuse this savory, mineral-driven Pinot with tons of character. The 2022 is nervy and taut to its core, but another year in bottle should do the trick. Hints of white pepper, blood orange and pomegranate linger on the vibrant, translucent finish. ANTONIO GALLONI

A fresh, pure and layered nose consists of liqueur-like dark berry fruit, plum, violet, earth and touches of spice. There is excellent richness to the slightly more refined medium weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract where the supporting structure arrives all at once on the grippy and mildly drying finish. I suspect that this will round into form once the sulfur addition is more completely integrated. BURGHOUND

I haven't always been the biggest fan of Nicolas' version of Chaignots - although I love the vineyard with its the nod to the "silk" of Vosne a nice counterpoint to the rusticity of Nuits. This year this is a beautiful example and the best I've seen from him. MICHAEL McNAMARA

It's one of those wines only Burgundy can toss up - it's a parcel of Grand Cru Echezeaux that's not designated Grand Cru but village. It certainly doesn't look at all village level. Super polished and full of Vosne Flagey richness. 

Easily the best version I've seen of this in years, and that's not damning it with faint praise, this wine is a star of the range, but this is superb Burgundy. I opened it the other night. Wow, what a wine and gives you everything you think Burgundy should MICHAEL MCNAMARA

Slightly more deeply pitched aromas are comprised by notes of violet, plum and dark raspberry. The texture of the sweet, delicious and caressing medium-bodied flavors contrast markedly with that of the firm and slightly chewy finish that offers excellent depth and persistence. This isn't especially refined but it works anyway plus it's a wine that should repay 7 to 10 years of cellaring. OUTSTANDING. BURGHOUND

This was vinified with a high percentage of whole clusters and it shows as the nose is extremely floral and spicy with its mix of both red and dark raspberry scents. There is fine volume to the velvety middleweight flavors that possess a seductive mouthfeel, all wrapped in a dusty bitter pit fruit-inflicted finish. This is a very good Vosne villages that is worth considering. (OUTSTANDING) BURGHOUND

From a site surrounded by dense forest on two sides, the 2022 Chardonnay DuMOL Estate Vineyard is a bright straw hue and has a more vibrant aromatic nose of fresh mint, bright lime, flint, crushed stones, and white peach. Medium to full-bodied, it boasts a remarkably firm structure with a bit of tannin, a chalky texture, and a savory slanting profile, and it's long and persistent on the finish. It has an assertive but crystalline feel and a crunchy brightness. It demands a bit of time (96) JEB DUNNUCK

The 2022 Chardonnay DuMOL Estate Vineyard is a heady, extroverted wine. Orchard fruit, tangerine peel, spice, mint, baked apple tart and strong floral overtones soar from the glass. This mid-weight, dynamic Chardonnay is long on energy and complexity. Aeration brings out lovely textural resonance. (95) ANTONIO GALLONI

From the estate's top vineyard, planted with 100% Calera clone in more clay soil, the 2022 Pinot Noir DuMOL Estate Vineyard boasts a ripe ruby color and classic aromas of pure cherries, candied roses, sweet Asian spices, and sweet sap. Medium-bodied, it's elegant and refined on the palate, with a silky texture, an approachable feel, and a fresh, clean, soft, stony finish. (96) JEB DUNNUCK

Rather flamboyant, with ripe strawberry and iron notes and iodine undertones. Full and flavorful, yet with framed and polished gorgeous fruit and hints of strawberry tart and pie crust at the end. A very pinpointed pinot with crushed stone, blueberry, raspberry and strawberry aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied and very reserved, with a linear intensity and great length. Tight focus at the end with dark berries and plums. Excellent potential (97) JAMES SUCKLING

Sixty percent of the 2022 Pinot Noir Finn comes from the Bressay Vineyard with Calera selection and the rest from old vines on Occidental Road, with unknown plant material (planted with eight or so clones) that they pick all at one time, which adds a lot of complexity to this wine. It opens to complex and layered aromas of kirsch, fresh violets, sweet tobacco, and mossy earth, followed on the palate by a complete wine with velvety tannins and harmonious acidity, everything coming together seamlessly. A stunning wine, it's one of the best wines of the vintage. It's going to be hard to hold in the cellar, but it will be worth it (100) JEB DUNNUCK

There is very good color to the exuberantly floral-suffused nose, in particular violet, that is comprised mostly by notes of black cherry and earth that are trimmed in discreet wood influence. There is excellent density and vibrancy to the bigger bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the dusty and bitter chocolate-inflected finish. This well-made effort is very much built to age and I would recommend not touching a bottle for at least 7 to 8 years. (Outstanding) BURGHOUND

This is also exuberantly floral in character with notes of rose petal, lilac, and violet on the earthy red berry fruit aromas though there is a hint of volatile acidity lurking in the background. The rich, velvety and seductively textured medium weight flavors exude evident minerality on the firm, serious and youthfully austere finish. (OUTSTANDING) - BURGHOUND
