Louis Roederer Collection 244
Based on the 2019 vintage, Roederer's NV Brut Collection 244 is the finest release of the house's reimagined non-vintage Brut to date. Offering up aromas of pear, peach and nectarine mingled with notions of white flowers, beeswax, freshly baked bread and buttery pastry, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with a pretty pinpoint mousse, racy acids and a long, chalky finish. The quality of the base vintage really shines through. WILLIAM KELLEY
The NV Collection 244 is gorgeous. Bright and focused, with a lovely cut, the 244 is immediately captivating. Dried pear, chamomile, herbs, mint and crushed rocks abound. Based on the 2019 vintage with 36% perpetual reserve wines from vintages 2012-2018, this vibrant, wonderfully crystalline Champagne impresses from beginning to end. Saline notes extend the finish effortlessly. ANTONIO GALLONI
The first impression is as invigorating as a sea breeze. I love the interplay of mirabelle, grapefruit and lychee fruit with minty freshness and waxiness from lees contact. And all this is welded to a beautifully proportioned palate with plenty of structure, the acidity bright and the mousse animating. Very salty finish that pulls you back for more. A cuvee of 41% chardonnay, 33% pinot noir and 26% pinot meunier. Of these, 15% fermented in oak and 85% in stainless steel. The final blend contained 36% reserve perpetual and 10% reserve wines of the 2012 - 2018 vintage from oak. JAMES SUCKLING
A pale silver/straw hue, the NV Champagne Collection 244 has 2019 as its base, with 42% Chardonnay, 26% Meunier, and the rest Pinot Noir. Expressive on opening, it's fresh with a beautiful floral perfume and reveals pure notes of red berries, cherry, fresh peach, and a lovely fresh bit of primary fruit. It has a fine and refined mousse, and the palate is supple and inviting. Medium-bodied and elegant, with a ripe core, it has a delicate salinity to balance its freshness and has an attractive, lightly tannic feel while retaining a refined and precise profile. Approachable and fantastic now, it will be exciting to see how this develops over time. It continues to be an exceptional value. JEB DUNNUCK

Laherte Freres Rose de Meunier NVThe NV Extra Brut Rosé de Meunier is very similar to the Ultradition version (the blend of vintages changes slightly) but bottled with 2.5 grams per liter of dosage. The lower dosage seems to bring out an extra kick of savory intensity to play off the dried rose petal, cinnamon, orange peel and crushed red berry fruit. I loved it. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous.com
Disgorged earlier this year, the NV Extra-Brut Rosé de Meunier bursts with aromas of red berries, peonies, licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's layered and vinous, with a ripe core of fruit and brisk girdling acids. As usual, it's a blend of 60% direct pressed Pinot Meunier, 30% macerated Pinot Meunier and 10% red Pinot Meunier. WILLIAM KELLEY, The Wine AdvocateNVChampagneFrance376$122.00 As low as $109.80 -
Rizzi Barbaresco Nervo 2019This fragrant red has aromas of baking spice, violet, vineyard dust and blue flower. The savory, elegant palate shows ripe Morello cherry, star anise and clove framed in vibrant acidity and taut, refined tannins.(95) KERIN O'KEEFE, wineenthusiast.com
There's a lightness and nervy spine to the core of maraschino cherries and licorice - a feature of the sandy soils perhaps. At the moment it feels a little tense, there's a swell of flavours at the fore, but it needs time. Tobacco and balsamic earthy notes balance the berries and dry spices. This is finely tuned and packed with excitement, but tuck it away and it will reward with a few years under its belt. GABRIELLE POY2019NebbioloItaly457$122.00 As low as $109.80 -

Cristom Mount Jefferson Pinot Noir 2022
Wildly exotic, the 2022 Pinot Noir Mt. Jefferson Cuvée captivates with its seductive blend of dried flowers, incense, rosemary and dried strawberries. This is wonderfully fresh, nearly crunchy in feel, with stimulating acidity offsetting its tart red fruits and hints of sour citrus that pucker the cheeks. The 2022 finishes with youthful tension, lightly structured yet cooling and fresh, leaving suggestions of tart raspberry. About 52% whole cluster fermentation. ERIC GUIDO, Vinous.com
The 2022 Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard Mt. Jefferson Cuvee is gorgeous out of the gate, offering a floral and fresh profile revealing notes of incense and ripe wild raspberries. Medium-bodied and elegant but structured, it has a mouth-filling, rich texture, with ripe tannins and great energy. The acidity is even and ripe, but there's still vibrant energy to it. JEB DUNNUCK
Wonderfully savoury, fresh mint, gravel dust and fresh wild strawberries. Country berries offer an elegant rusticity to the front palate, savoury herbs and white pepper, a new height for Mt Jefferson. DECANTER

Sandro Fay Valtellina Riserva Superiore 'Carteria' 2019
Carteria is a single vineyard that sits at around 550 metres in the western part of the municipality of Teglio. At this higher level the vineyards sit in a cooler pocket and the vines produce fruit and grape juice that is tighter and nervier and showing more primary rock mineral character. Winemaking involves fermentation in stainless steel and aging for 12 months in 30hl and 500ltr old oak barrels and then a further aging in bottle of 24 months. Carteria has been made as a Riserva (min 3 years of aging) since 2013.
The wine is intensely concentrated with floral hints of rose and cool spice with a fruit profile that shows hints of darker fruits in addition to red. Tannins are finer and more elegant than you would expect from one of the warmer years on record. Overall, the wine is powerful, savoury and earthy with many years ahead of it to unfurl.

Andre Clouet Rose No.3 NV
Clouet's rose epitomises elegance and focus, while flamboyantly celebrating the generous red cherry, strawberry, watermelon and pink pepper fruit of Bouzy. It encapsulates that wonderful talent of pinot noir to build and rise on the finish, all the while retaining graceful precision as delicate as rose petal perfume. Structure is fine and elegant, driven both by chalk minerality of the village and a very finely executed tannin presence. It finishes with great length and poise of exquisite red cherry fruit. A pristine and enticingly priced rose. Older disgorgements have taken on savoury suggestions of tamarillo, while upholding their primary integrity. TYSON STELZER
The NV Brut Rosé No 3 Grand Cru is a pure Bouzy Pinot Noir that gets its beautiful intense onion-skin color from the addition of 8% red wine. The nose is rich and complex but at the same time pure and refined, with a nice chalky layer and vinous fruit intensity. Round and rich but fresh and vital on the pure and elegant palate, this is a full-bodied, pretty intense and persistent rosé to be served with main courses. This rosé is seriously complex and expressive, with grip, tension and a long finish. Remarkable in class and style. STEPHAN REINHARDT, Wine Advocate

Vilmart Grand Reserve NVA blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, the latest rendition of Vilmart's NV Brut Premier Cru Grande Réserve reveals a pure, delicate bouquet of pear, white flowers, confit citrus and menthol. Based on the 2021 vintage complemented with 2020 and 2019, it includes 50% vins de réserve and was vinified and matured for 10 months. YOHAN CASTAING, robertparker.comA great edition of Grand Réserve, this 2021 base cuvée benefits from reserve wines of the two preceding vintages. Domaine de Bellene Volnay Les Grands Poisots 2020
Wow, what a lovely aroma of raspberry and dark cherry fruit laid over a faintly stoney backbeat and gorgeous blue florals of violets. The palate is full and ripe but nuanced and full of energy. Intensity of flavour without heft. I love the limestone drying quality in this wine and the mouth aromas that mark it as a Volnay through and through. Tannins are well managed and covered by the fruit. I love this. MICHAEL MCNAMARA, PWS
Ripe aromas of both red and dark berry fruit enjoy pretty floral top notes. There is again very good energy to the solidly dense and voluminous flavors that are at once generous yet grippy and rustic on the firm finish. While better balanced than the St. Romain, I suspect that this will always have a bit of a tannic edge to it. BURGHOUND2020Pinot noirFrance358$130.00 As low as $117.00 -

Domaine SC Guillard Gevrey Chambertin Aux Corvees VV 2022Crimson color. There is more new oak here to be seen of first impressions that elevate the overall complexity and class of the aromas, it is amply carried by the depth of fruit, wild strawberry, black cherry, blackberry and plum with a brooding background. The palate is suitably concentrated with ample extract and structure that has layers of fruit and texture. Very classy effort. The finish long and fragrant. Drink 2027-2040. TOM CARSON
A spicier expression on the nose of nutmeg, blood plums and violets - this exudes its 2022 supreme fruit expression. With air, notes of mulch and rose petals emerge. There's a lovely synergy between fruit and structure, an undertow of power and sinewy muscle carries the fruit along. Subtle oak tannins and a minerally thread cocoon the core, setting it up for a very bright future. It’s very stylish and embryonic in its development, tuck this away for a few years. Gianfranco Alessandria Barolo San Giovanni DOCG 2019The 2019 Barolo San Giovanni is the more powerful of the estate's two Barolos. It offers up scents of mocha, spice, dark cherry, plum and leather. Rippon Mature Vine Pinot Noir 2020
Extremely perfumed with a pretty ripeness and clarity, offering plums and al-dente strawberries. Some cantaloupe, too. It's medium- to full-bodied with juicy fruit that's lovely and open. You want to drink it now. And do. Crunchy yet velvety and caressing in the mouth-feel from the lovely, open tannins. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Best in a year or two, but right on. (97) JAMES SUCKLING
The 2020 Rippon Mature Vine Pinot Noir is restrained on the nose, with an earthy (i.e., of the earth, gray rocks, etc.) countenance that I find highly engaging. In the mouth, the fruit comes alive with cherry and cranberry, pomegranate pearls, graphite and pencil lead, layers of black tea, coal dust and brine. This is dark without being heavy or dense, and it’s very fine. The silty tannins linger through the finish and seem to settle on the palate, which is pleasurable. Lallier Blanc de Blanc NVCultivated with 100% Chardonnay grapes from two magnificent grand cru regions: Aÿ and the Côtes des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Oger), an approach pioneered in the late 90s by James Lallier, at a time when Chardonnay was chosen exclusively from Côte des Blancs. Perfectly timed harvesting to ensure that the grapes used in Blanc de Blancs Champagne are fully matured and at their pinnacle. Inspired by Lallier’s sincere respect and outstanding understanding of terroir, this pure Chardonnay is grown on chalky hillside plots, allowing the vine’s roots to penetrate deeper, providing excellent drainage, yet still retaining sufficient moisture for nourishment. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated, spicy fruit. It's structured by fine, grainy tannins and bright acidity and has a long, bitters-laced finish. ERIN BROOKES, Wine advocate

Elk Cove La Boheme Pinot Noir 2022
Opulent aromas of rose petals, smoke and crushed raspberries mark this wine from the La Bohème Vineyard, planted in 1985. Sweet black raspberries, cloves, and green tea leaves are met by sandalwood and chicory root. The structure is impressive, and the fruit goes on seemingly forever. CLIVE PURSEHOUSE, Decanter
The 2022 Pinot Noir La Bohème, from grapes planted in 1985, has pure, alluring aromas of pomegranate, blueberry, mushroom powder, iron and desiccated flowers. The light-bodied palate is chalky and refreshing with understated yet complex flavors and a long, perfumed finish. ERIN BROOKES, Wine advocate

Chartogne-Taillet Rose NVThe NV Brut Le Rosé is another attractive Champagne from Alexandre Chartogne. Creamy and supple, the Rosé offers good up-front appeal, if not quite the persistence or energy of the very best wines in the range. I would prefer to drink it over the next few years. Dosage is 6.7 grams per liter. Disgorged: April 2018. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous MediaNVChampagneFrance376$135.00 As low as $121.50
