Broader, more incisive, still with a little noble reduction. Cool fruit, calmer than the first impression of the Cromin but similarly juicy in the middle and finishing flavours – a hint more austerity – citrus skin bitters – in this finish so I’d wait a little longer to open but an excellent wine with fine intensity. BILL NANSON

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Levrons, which was not affected by frost and consequently bestowed a generous 50hl/ha, has a minerally bouquet that unfolds in the glass, with touches of wet limestone and struck match. The palate is well balanced with a spicy opening, fine depth and a keen thread of acidity; a sprinkling of white pepper appears towards the finish. NEAL MARTIN
