Nice one Sam. We love what you are doing here. For those that may not know Even Keel is part of Polperro, with the sub-label (I guess you would call it) sourcing wines from in and around the Mornington as well as further afield in the likes of Heathcote and even Canberra. It's a bit of fun for winemaker Sam Coverdale giving him a chance to have a little fun working outside the box a little for wines under that label.
In saying that, this is textbook gris with its fresh picked fruit salad aroma, sweet baking spice and lush palate. Sam like to you use a little barrel work to add texture, weight and a little framing spice. Its handled beautifully here with a lovely depth to the fruit countered by a streak of fresh acidity. Great stuff.
