This is a blend from several western and central Rheingau sites, including Lorch, Eltville, Hattenheim and Kiedrich, most of which reside on loess, clay, slate and quartzite. The vines are between 15 and 20 years of age.
This very youthful, racy dry riesling is still quite tightly wound, but don’t let that put you off. The fresh garden herb, yuzu and Amalfi lemon aromas are really expressive, and the wet-stone minerality creates terrific tension on the medium-bodied palate. Drinkable now, but best from 2026. Screw cap. STUART PIGGOT

The 2024 Rheingau Riesling is pure, dense and citrusy on the fresh, racy and slightly floral nose. Lean, elegant and delicate on the palate, with fine roundness and density, this is a textured, finely racy, crisp and grippy Riesling that is still slightly drying and needs another 1-2 years in the bottle or could be enjoyed with salty crackers. 12% stated alcohol.
