90% cabernet sauvignon, 4% each of cabernet franc and merlot, 2% petit verdot; matured in new French barriques for 30 months. This seems to be going from strength to strength as the fruit, oak, and the tannins in particular, have welded together in a totally symbiotic fashion. It is still unique in the Australian context, but would fit seamlessly into the fabric of Bordeaux. Another point for its elegant maturity and reassuringly unmarked cork. James Halliday
